I just love that concept so muuuuuch, man. You're the only one! And then you're NOT the only one!! And you've maybe never really been alone, you've always had your family as far back as you can remember, but you had a DIFFERENT family once; you came from somewhere ELSE and no one else can tell you anything about it, every connection to it is GONE, and then suddenly you meet somebody else who's even a LITTLE bit of connection to that place, who knows even a LITTLE bit of what it's like to be what you are? That's such a THING, man! That is such a CONCEPT and an EXPERIENCE!!

It makes me so excited to know this series is bingeable, lol. When I started writing it, I only had the intention of the first three stories with a possible prologue if I felt brave enough (Birth Certificate, Finders Keepers, Picket Fence OG, and Chart a Course), so the fact that it's expanded into so much more than that feels surreal at times. I'm glad that it feels cohesive enough to enjoy all together when it was written so out of sequence!

Anyway, thank you so much for reading all of it and for taking the time to find my Tumblr and let me know how much you enjoy this series! I really appreciate it more than you know, and happy to have you around :D

wildly specific but i’m obsessed with how much four haunts the entire story… everyone, even the people who don’t know he existed (thad) or don’t know that he was someone entirely seperate from thad (yj) are haunted by his actions and the gaping hole in the lineup… is he the only successful inertia? is he the greatest failure? whatever it is the fact that he’s not there only makes it more apparent that he was

anyway this entire story is fantastic and i applaud the best use of normal civilian ocs i’ve seen in a LONG time, jo and her whole segment was riveting, your characterizations are impeccable, and i hope you had as much fun crafting this as i have reading it :]

and yes!! Four has so much influence over the story and characters, despite not really being a character himself. Three and Four's creation/relationship and the events of the first chapter carry over into almost every decision Three makes, which then goes on to effect everyone else.

Four and Nine have some similar pull on the course of the story by the way their deaths affect the other characters. Four got to a kind of insane level of power when he was alive, not just in ability but also in the power he held over Three and Bart, and his death happens before the main story begins, but still affects the whole course of the narrative. Nine on the other hand has no power at all, to the point where even when he's told he's destined to die, he has no ability to change anything at all. YET still his death ALSO has as-yet-unforseen consequences on the other characters.

and im talking like i planned it but to be honest a lot of realizations about different characters and how they relate to the narratives/themes has been happening during the edit rather than the actual writing lmao. many cool coincidences happening.
