Never seen anything like this guy before. Looks like a really small wasp almost. Very cute, and very polite while I took their photos. It's rainy and cold outside, so I'm not exactly sure how they got in and look so pristine about it, but I made the decision to leave them inside next to a little window they could get out from if they needed to.
What a precious lil angel. It's a chalcid wasp - the silly-shaped back legs are a good indicator. They're parasitoids, but I couldn't tell you which bug this fella parasitizes. That may have been where it came from, though? Emerged from another bug that came inside.
So I appear to have accidentally sent an ask with only images attached. Whoopsie daisy on my part [it is 10pm at the writing of this and I am incredibly tired lol]
^the images in question, so you can just ignore the failed ask
Anyway, fun story about this little guy. I assume this is another brown recluse [same house as the last one I found, and looks about the same]. I was laying on the floor playing with our kitten over here when that spider starting crawling on me. It was a very strenuous process of us stressing each other out and me trying not to get bit, and I did manage to finally get it outside where it could be a bit safer. Was kind of worrying in the moment, but much funnier to think back on it the day after.
It is indeed a recluse. Cute lil tiny fella. Glad no one was injured including the spider! :)
Some friends from the past few days! Id on the moth would be nice, but isn't necessary [since I'm sending this via ask, I'm not adding location details aside from these being found in Arkansas] :)
State is almost always specific enough for ID. The moth is a very lovely small-eyed sphinx, Paonias myops. Big fan of the others as well, especially the tiny snail :)
Just wanted to share this big harvestman I saw! Extremely leggy, and all of them look to be in tact, no less! I don't usually get to see any who haven't lost at least one of them
LEGS. Wow. Good for this fella.
I actually did have something else to share, I remembered! My mom found what I believe to be a rustic sphinx while she was going into work a few days ago!! :3
Definitely a rustic sphinx! Very pretty :)
