1.6" Chalcedony Replaced Gastropod With Sparkly Quartz - India
perhaps too young to know about concepts like lack of humidity and scary predators, this baby Portugala inchoata was a rare case of an individual found boldly looking around instead of hiding away in its fancy looking shell. i'd like to get a closer look at the adults, but most of the time i can barely tell they're even alive

Snails in my awpato (and some pickerelweed... which I accidentally pulled the leaves off of but I'm sure it's fine) container
[image description start. A screenshot of an underwater video, showing slightly murky water with white and green plant roots and leaves visible, and two snails, both with flat curled brown shells, one is larger and closer to the camera, the other is smaller and further away. The one closest has a dark gray body visible poking out at the end of the shell. Image description end.]
These might be called periwinkles assuming they are the same things as are in the marsh itself.
No idea why they are called that.

I used to own a ton of slugs and god I miss it. My first lil guys were some banana slugs that grew massive and bright yellow. I had another tank of some bright red slugs that would roll into balls (so cute!). I had a few local Appalachian species too like the leopard slug. Super cute little critters. When they're happy they nibble on your skin and it's the cutest 🥹
White-lipped snail (I'm like 95% sure it's one) I saw a few days ago on my walk home
I love these guys' stripes

Since a snail's "love dart" makes it so that the winner does not have to be the one to get pregnant, does that count as forcefemming?
