      i did forget to post it ,  thank you for reminding me !  you see ,  life got in the way that weekend ,  so i completely forgot about it ,  so sorry !  but regarding the poll ,  believe me or not ,  it was a tie between FOUR blogs !  simply amazing ,  really .  well ,  here they are anyway !  sorry everyone !

        ❛ WHAT IF HE DOESN’T WANT MY TOSSES ANYMORE ?? what if he doesn’t want to play on the same team?? what if he doesn’t want to be my friend ?? what if-- ❜ questions fire through his mind while passing the volleyball back && forth. his vision grows blurrier with tears-- until the ball bounces off his head. silently, kageyama goes to retrieve the ball. he stands with his back to hinata. ❝ there’s something i need to tell you. i don’t like keeping secrets from people that matter to me. ❞ this isn’t what kageyama had in mind when asking hinata to practice on the weekend. but his anxiety’s going to send him over the edge if he doesn’t say this.

❝ I don’t need SMILE PRACTICE! Anyone can smile, it’s not even that hard! See?! ❞ Last damn time he was gonna listen to Hinata criticize his face when it was TOTALLY NORMAL and NOT CREEPY AT ALL. Tobio would show him by smiling RIGHT NOW and he probably looked AWESOME and NORMAL doing it.

            FUYUMI’S   ATTEMPT   AT   REFORGING   THE   DISTANCE   BETWEEN   THEIR   FAMILY   had utterly failed. father’s presence only managed to stir up repressed feelings, and natsuo’s feet had carried him from the house in a RAGE. shouto’s first reaction was obedience   (  sit, don’t go after him, you have no right --- they are not meant for the same life as you   ), but after a moment or two of contemplation, he ignored fuyumi’s soft protests and father’s smoldering stare and followed after natsuo. he was tired ---- tired of the TENSION that thickened the air whenever they were all back here, tired of feeling so angry at everything, tired of shouldering this GRIEF. he was never given the joys of sibling companionship, always staring at them through a panel of glass --- even when patriarchal gaze was not ever watchful. when shouto sat down next to natsuo, he sat down next to a stranger.

                                                                he was desperate to know his brother.

         they sat at the edges of their home, where a bench seated itself under their tree. shouto could vaguely remember the singsong laughter of mother as she sat under this tree, a bubbling toddler - shouto gurgling in her lap. natsuo and touya were playing in the yard, and fuyumi was digging up worms to show her siblings. it was a flickering memory, one shouto wasn’t even sure was real, but it filled him with a quiet peace regardless.

      he gazed side - eyed at his brother, his lips pursed into a thin line.  ❛  are you okay?  ❜ his question was posed quietly, as if he didn’t want to shatter the silence that had settled between them after natsuo spoke. we don’t have to talk. we can just sit here for a while. natsuo was more foreign to him than some of shouto’s classmates, but his heart reached out to him anyway. one day, he hoped, he could call natsuo brother and know the feeling that should accompany that title.
