When people ask my friends and I if we play any sports

The Big Game

No weekend warriors we

ragtag athletes without clues

on a tournament for something to do.

Softball was the game

Organizers needed another team

one and done was just fine

Our first team meeting in the dugout

smelled of strange smoke

most laughed and took another toke

some of us had gloves, some bats

me and Paul came in floppy hats.

We drew last year's champs, warriors all

if we were serious we might have bawled.

Swagger was in all they did

they laughed when we strode to the plate

and calmly doffed our little lids.

A swing and a miss was not our game

and they quit laughing when we hit.

They didn't expect us to be ahead by one

as the last inning came around

Two out with the bases loaded

gave them back their grins.

Their biggest gun took his swing.

Paul and I watched from center field

then raced toward the fly with our hats.

When I caught it bats and curses flew.

We had won the game five to four.

Random Gender Fluid Thing #67

I’m not good at sports. This has nothing to do with my gender identity. I was bad at sports when I thought I was cis. I’m bad at sports now that I know I’m gender fluid. Everyone can be bad at sports no matter what their gender is. Just let us be bad at sports in peace! ;)
