The trap of sorrow

engulfing all of the world

suddenly is sprung

without God man is undone,

Foreboding darkness

thick enough to feel like skin

envelopes the world,

Satan at the wheel scorns God,

a white horse comes thundering.

Three numbers for time

giving the room a red glow

while I toss and turn

too warm, too cold too damn old,

thoughts that hold me in their grasp.

we naturally belong -

where God's own are torn

by the choice of our own will

if we heed His loving call.
