When exactly does an Equipment become unattached? If it gets destroyed or exiled, does it become unattached?
Equipment becomes unattached whenever it goes from being attached to a creature to not being attached to that creature.
This can happen several ways:
The equipment becomes attached to a different creature (via equip ability or other means)
It can no longer legally equip the creature (The creature stops being a creature, the equipment becomes a creature, the creature gains protection from the equipment, etc.)
The creature leaves the battlefield (destroyed, exiled, bounced, etc.)
The equipment leaves the battlefield (destroyed, exiled, bounced, etc.)
A spell or ability unattaches the equipment (e.g. Carry Away, Heartseeker, etc.)
