Just found your Faults of Ross post and god bless you. I've watched this show 5/6 times and the more I did, the more I realized how much of a jerk Ross Geller is. I wish he was real so I can tell him that myself. I mean first it was just the bigger things like how he thinks he owns Rachael, but now it's the smaller things as well. What's the funniest is, that Joey is supposed to be the womanizer, a character who usually disrespects women, but I'd rather go out with him than Ross.

Oh, i’m the same.  I’ve been watching FRIENDS once a year since it ended because i had to go and buy all the seasons when they came out.  When the show first aired i was about 10 so i didn’t notice what was wrong right away but with each passing year i thought “god, Ross is a dick” and i noticed more every time i watched, and now everything about him bugs me.

Not to say Joey and Chandler are faultless, the difference is they actually learned and grew out of certain things.   They evolved as people and became better.   

Joey was supposed to be the womanizer but even in the beginning he showed promise of being different.  When his dad cheated on his mom?  He confronted his dad, he told his mom, he talked to Chandler about his worries because he said if he found the right person he hoped that he could be a stand up guy and go the distance.  It honestly bothered him.    The difference between Ross and Joey is that Joey honest to god cares about people.  He’d literally do anything for his friends, and if he honestly cares about a girl, he changes.   When he fell for that actress and they finally had a night together, he immediately dropped things with her understudy, and when the actress didn’t continue things with him and said “haven’t you been with a girl where it more to her than to you?” he actually digs out his little black book and calls every girl in it to apologize for his behavior in the past because he finally realized  how it felt and honestly felt bad about it.   Joey may not be the brightest crayon in the box but he is an extremely loyal guy to people he cares about.   

Ross on the other hand, is VERY selfish and arrogant.   Sure he can act supportive and such at times….unless it affects him negatively in some way, or if there is an opportunity open for him to get his way.   Ross is THAT GUY.  you know, the one society tells us we should like, the “NICE GUY”, you know, the one that get’s butthurt if you reject him and can’t be in the wrong ever.  And that’s why i can’t stand him.

I rambled but i’m sure you don;t mind the extra Ross hate rant :P
