Me explaining my hear me outs to my friend
// evil dead teacher headcanons //
since evil dead burn it's on the corner i decided to create my scenario of an evil dead movie!
the deadite english teacher would genuinely be one of the most terrifying things in the evil dead universe because he never stops acting like a teacher
even after the possession he still speaks softly, still fixes students uniforms automatically, still reminds them to drink water, still smiles warmly before saying the most horrific things imaginable
he was the favorite teacher in school before everything happened
the type that stayed after class to help struggling students, remembered everyone’s names, recommended books to lonely kids, secretly paid for school supplies when parents couldn’t afford them
which makes the possession so much crueler because the students keep trying to believe he’s still in there
at first nothing feels wrong enough
he just starts acting… slightly off
too calm during emergencies
appearing in places without making noise
finishing students sentences before they speak
smiling a second too long
his eyes occasionally looking red under fluorescent lights
students begin finding strange comments written on essays in ancient languages
“OPENING YOURSELF TO KNOWLEDGE MEANS OPENING YOURSELF TO OTHER THINGS TOO.”
the school being catholic makes everything worse because the necronomicon was hidden there decades ago after a priest realized some texts were never meant to be translated
and of course the sweet harmless english teacher with a masters degree in dead languages is the exact kind of person capable of reading the incantations correctly
his last human act is locking himself inside the library trying to protect the students
which means the demon learns immediately that kindness is his greatest weakness
deadite teacher using school language while brutally murdering people is so evil dead coded
“attendance is VERY important tonight.”
“phones away please. the screams are distracting.”
“if you survive until sunrise, extra credit.”
“let’s have a class about how a demon can screw you children.”
all said with the warmest smile imaginable
and the worst part is that sometimes his real personality still slips through for a second
his expression softens after hurting someone
his voice cracks
he hesitates before attacking students he cared about
but then the smile comes back wider than before
like the demon is mocking what used to be human
instead of vecna, there should've been a monster that would take the form of loved ones so it could lure people into the upside down. but i want to be where we dont see the monster, we only ever hear it, and when we finally get a chance to see what it looks like, it looks just like a character we know, but something doesn't feel right about the way they look. maybe an eye is a little too high up, or their limbs are too long, or their pupils take up 90% of their eyes. it's clear something is wrong, but the monster will still try and convince who they're targeting that it is their loved one, and it wants to take them somewhere.
