"C'mon, Ardyn," he pleaded, looking over his shoulder to give his uncle his best puppy dog eyes. "The weather's good and it's a Saturday. I don't wanna listen to some boring old tutor drone on about things that happened before I was born."

He'd known that skipping his history lesson was wrong, but he went to school all week! It wasn't fair that he had to have lessons at home, too.

"Don't make me go."

Regis had asked him to find the little prince. Because the boy liked the old immortal, and because the king trusted him more with finding the child then anyone else. He agreed easily enough, though he had no plans to actually return him to his responsibilities. Why should he when they can enjoy themselves instead?

"Well, fortunate on such a pretty day I found you!" He said with a mischievous grin. "How about we go to that little nature park on the edge of the city, there is some lovely hiking, and even lovelier fishing ponds."

My guilty pleasure but still favorite FFXV AUs are anything that makes Ardyn Noctis’ fun uncle like it rly is the best kind of fix it. Nothing makes me weep more in a we-could-have-had-it-alllll way than little Noctis playing hide and seek with his weird old enigmatic uncle who has purple hair and seems to know everything. Said uncle also lives in the Citadel basement and despite holding an official title he is completely useless to his other favorite nephew Regis because he thinks Regis should solve all his political problems with murder. He gives Noctis swords as presents. Picking up his nephew in front of the entire school in a pink car. Please inject this kind of sappy nonsense straight into my veins i love it sm.

Quick Uncle Ardyn Concept!:

Ardyn was never imprisoned by Somnus, instead he escaped his brother and hid away in a cavern.

After a few centuries of living alone, he approaches civilisation once again and realises that Somnus' line has been ruling since his 'death'.

One night, feeling as though he has no other option, he crawls into the city of Insomnia (and what a stupid name that is) with the intention of killing Somnus' descendants. Instead, he stumbles across the nursery of the infant Prince. He spends a few moments watching the infant sleep, and then the child opens his eyes and the rage quickly dissipates. The child is, for lack of a better phrase, adorable. The boy reminds Ardyn of the child he had once imagined himself and Aera having.

So instead of killing off his brother's line, Ardyn becomes a guardian of sorts. He's determined to help this child grow into something better, to do better.

From that day on he appears to every LC child up until the age of 18, at which point he stops his visits, until they have a child of their own. Even then, he takes great care never to be seen by the parent, just the child.

And so it goes on. He spends centuries caring for the children, teaching them and scaring away their nightmares.

The morning of Noctis' 5th birthday, Regis enters his son's room and sees Ardyn sitting on the bed, singing a lullaby with tears in his eyes.

Ardyn looks at him and whispers 'I'm sorry' because this sweet, gentle soul is going to die at his hand and it breaks his heart.

It was mid-morning as the tot had been exploring outside the citadel that night. Zen stayed hidden under her covers. she tossed an turned hoping she wouldn't have to get up.. she grumbled to herself " ghrrgh.. Im glad Im not getting a tutor lesson today " she was happy she could sleep in..

Ardyn quietly made his way on over towards the end on her bed without bringing about any noise, before taking a handful of the bed sheets, and yank the covers off in one swift move.

"And that's where you are quite wrong young one."

Ardyn said in a hum quite pleased with his work the sun was shining towards the bed, and there was no way for a shield.

"Your dearest uncle decided to come for a visit."
