So I just started BbS and the KH timeline still confuses me a bit, but how do you see your AU playing out? Like, when Braig is Xigbar and stuff. I'm mostly caught up on all the lore, but for some reason the order of events is hard to remember..

the short of it is that i do plan to have some organization nonsense happen in the future, but it’ll still just be one-off lighthearted fics for funsies, which is what this whole au is about

i do however like to tend towards super introspective stuff in my writing (not sure if it’s already hinting at itself in the uncle braig fics but i really do keep those as light as possible) so it’s inevitable that i write the occasional genuinely serious fic that could tackle subjects like xigbar not being able to bond as well with vanitas due to his nobody status and stuff like that. i don’t like angst though, so i might go so far as to avoid those topics

so what do you think uncle braig's first reaction was to seeing sora and that he looked just like vanitas?

i think his reaction in his head would just be “fuck. that. i don’t need another chaotic nephew” but he has a big urge to ask sora if he knows vanitas or has any relation to him. tells himself he doesn’t give a shit once sora says he’s never heard of him but can’t help but go easy on him anyway

this isnt vanitas related but i cant help but think of when roxas and xion join the organization xigbar sees them and just [immediate adoption]

anon the whole reason i have been convinced all this time that xigbar and by extension braig has huge uncle energy is that part near the beginning of days where xigbar is like “what do you weight, a buck fifty soaking wet? here, take this in case you fall over” and gives roxas a potion or something. he can potentially be the uncle to all of sora’s heart hotel residents

also helps that days was my first kh game as well as the only one i played for years and i was like 12 years old or whatever so i loved the idea of him chaperoning me around

see this is extremely woke and i made a tweet just the other day saying that uncle braig absolutely takes vanitas to disney world at least once but i meant it more in a modern au thing rather than actually like. disneytown as in the bbs world

anyway i will probably write that but i haven’t been to disney world in a billion years even though i literally live like half an hour away from it (unless it’s disney Land instead of world?) so i have no idea where to even begin

1. “cooking” to braig is putting takeout in the microwave because he lives in the middle of fuckshit nowhere so vanitas has to learn (and once he does, braig pesters him to make dinner every night and vanitas is like You’re tjhe uncle YOU do it for once)

2. it’s not even really gravity related but i keep thinking of that move vanitas does like 50% of the time you hit him where he like reappears in midair and slams down?? i’ve decided braig taught him that

3. he takes him out for ice cream to make him feel better and they get the little spongebob popsicles and vanitas pops the gumball eyes out and braig laughs like “atta boy! show that popsicle who’s boss!”
