have you ever noticed how xigbar progressively becomes more and more similar on a physical level to the No Name... only one eye, black hair with grey streaks.... even the jagged lines (especially the teeth of the keyblade) kinda resemble his scar (tho that's maybe a reach, idc)

i said i was gonna make a post about how in japanese, braig calls xehanort peepaw. so!:

in japanese, braig (and i think xigbar in other games) seems to exclusively call master xehanort "jiji". "jiji" is an affectionate short form of ojiisan/ojīsan, which means "grandfather". it's specifically used either by small children as a term of endearment, or by adults as an insult. it's similar to how "grandpa" can be used in english—so "grandpa" is a perfectly acceptable translation/localization of the term, and "you old coot" (like he says in the original version of the above scene) also helps convey situations where xigbraig is being more confrontational.

but considering "jiji" seems to only be used sincerely by small children, i like to say that JP braig calls him peepaw.
