unconquervble
It was a presence, more so than anything else. A lurking feeling, nagging at the back of her skull and beckoning her to turn and embrace it. And she did turn, however she did not embrace. However familiar this presence was in her dreams (in fact, it have started to permeate into her mind during her waking hours), Gaia still had no clue who this was. “I’ve been expecting you,” she said, her sightless eyes focusing on nothing and everything as her fingers touched the tresses of her hair while she brushed it out as part of her nightly routine. Living in the city was tough. Athens wasn’t always a forgiving place, and her flat in the better part of the city sometimes found the radar of people trying to take advantage of the blind girl without really knowing what she was capable of. “Are you going to keep quiet or introduce yourself?” Her voice had almost a dreamlike quality that came with years of being terrified and learning that nothing was as bad as the time she’d spent locked up in the mansion like some pet who couldn’t behave herself. “I’ll go first. I’m Gaia.”
