Synopsis: Wishverse. With the help of the White Hats, Buffy and Angel have, for the most part, taken Sunnydale back from the monsters. Now, one thing after another keeps coming along to make sure they can't enjoy the fruits of their labors, from a lengthy Council inspection to the fine print of Angel's curse, to the return of Darla.

9 Truths & 1 Lie:

I think all of these are true in some form, and the lie is only a lie because of one or two words. I have two main thoughts, tho I voted Dan in the end because I think we'll see all of this but it was a tough call between him and Ellie.

Ellie being the youngest board of directors member would need a HELLA good fake identity in order get there, and the only reason Tim was in the company was his incredible genius and also nepotism. But if Vlad is gone....what happens to his company? This could be an in for Ellie, of she starts as Vlad's heir. Or Dan's heir, if he was the one who took over post a redemption. (Gotta have a secret earth identity and all that!)

Dan tho, I think of THIS one is the lie, it's going to be a lie because of the wording. If it's a lie, my bet is that Dan DOES become a lantern, but isn't really redeemed. There is a lot to play with in regards to Black/White/Unltraviolet Corps that would be cool with Dan. If he IS redeemed but ISN'T a lantern...it's because instead he becomes the ENTITY to a Lantern Corp, but not necessarily a lantern himself. This is the one I hope for, because it would be really, really funny if Danny is the Ghost King and Dan becomes the Entity for the Black Lantern Corps or something similar to The Ultraviolet Corps, with him being a phantom/unseen emotion ext ect.

Also hi yes, your fic is an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT and the new chapter was very very fun and I agree Phantom Planet is a delightful sandbox as long as some dogshit is shoveled out first before we play in it.

(I like to think in a Phantom Planet-Ghost-King au, that defeating Pariah Dark would have been what gave Danny candidacy to be Ghost King, but not the crown or title itself. UNITING The Ghost Zone under his command to save the Earth from the Disasteriod is what actually finalized his claim and ultimately ensured Danny got crowned.)

Good catch on Vlad's companies now being in a bit of a limbo with him missing. Realistically, the company(s) would need to be left to SOMEBODY. But is that somebody Ellie, and did she want to claim them if so?

And an interesting take on Dan and the Lanterns! There is definitely some ambiguity there: was Dan truly redeemed? Is he truly a Lantern? Only time will tell.

OK so you mentioned in your fic you wouldn't mind getting asks breaking down what we think is the lie? So I thought I'd do that.

I think Ellie being the youngest member of WI is a lie.

This took me a while to decide because honestly so much of the Lore I can see fitting.

Ultimately I went with Ellie because I think she's more of a wandering soul, and being a member of WI would probably lead to her having less chance to wander- she'd be more rooted and I honestly think her roots are more with Danny, and that she wouldn't want to spend the time needed doing an office job.

Even if she barely came in, she'd still have obligations she'd have to be in on time for and to answer emails or work remotely or whatever and I just don't see her doing that? It feels like it'd be too restrictive.

Also I think she couldn't be bothered to ask Lady Gotham to let her in, but if she could he bothered she'd probably annoy Gotham to the point of either pseudo adoption or utter hate and I'm not sure which.

I think she might masquerade as a WI person at some point but I think she'd be pretending to be someone else rather than actually attending and working herself (eg I can see her pretending to be Tim to cause chaos)

Anyways, love your story! I'm curious to see if I'm right or not (only time will tell)

You are right that Ellie is much more a free spirit (ha!) than someone who would let themselves be grounded by responsibility. And you're also very right that any roots Ellie has are more often tied to people than places.

That said, there are a few things you could be overlooking, such as the fact that Wayne Industries is an international company and would offer more than plenty of opportunities to travel for work.

Either way, good reasoning, and we'll find out if you're right in time!
