The Enlightened, the True King, Werner/Verner…Or even the True Queen (which really suits him) ! This guy goes by many names BUT there is one that caught my attention : the Uncrowned King.
We know this one from the Second Song of Wind Travel : “[...] Admiration from the seven monarchs / Subjugation to the sharp blades / Without a gown or crown / He is still the uncrowned king.”
So okay, fine. But if you check Shining Nikki there is THIS GUY named LEONID who, strangely, has his skill called “Uncrowned King.”
Why is he the bus driver again? I'm not saying that they are the same person but there is most likely a big parallel to draw between these two, plus we know that there stuff going on with different timelines, time travels etc...
They could also be related, yet it doesn't explain more about the King's title being present here…I just wanted to point this out, I'm not far enough in SN’s story anyway to really go far in an analysis.
There's always a white haired guy fucking up the fate of the land + they are both very nihilistic about Miraland's destiny.
There is Verner accepting this fate of destruction and so, making the choice to keep his people in a happy illusion/dream.
And Leonid, watching Nikki going through many cycles to save Miraland, over and over again, without understanding why she still persists to save what is fated to return to the sea of memories.
