Anyone can interpret it how they want. I made it mostly because of late night thoughts and it kind of being a metaphor about myself and the fear of being forgotten, hence why there are tears but a smile because at least I made some people happy. I’m making it too deep but that’s my general feeling I felt.

That and because I wanted to try and experiment new things art-wise.

One thing i really liked about the comic was that they made the morphing really gross

You are right!  I know a couple of people mentioned the fear that the morphing was gonna be sanitized and/or prettified and/or made into magical girl transformations.  But it was definitely NOT pretty.

I agree that the shudder-inducing pee-your-pants body horror is a lot of what makes Animorphs unique, and that the comics did well at both keeping the grossness while not making it so gross as to be unreadable.

[Yeah, plus Gardevoir!Stan, who’s a mean green Moonblasting machine(and Moonblast has a chance to lower Sp. Attack).

Also, Deerling!Mabel has Chlorophyll so she also becomes extra fast under the effect of Sunny Day.]

What or who would your dream tortall book series be about? Like if you got to pick the setting or protagonist for the next series, what would it be?

Ooh this is a hard one! My gut reaction is to say I need more Kel, because, well, I always need more Kel. But also I love where her series ends. I just need Kel cameos in everything forever.

My actual answer is that I’d love a protagonist who’s a commoner and not terribly involved with court affairs. I love how Beka’s series gives us a good look at a totally different aspect of Corus life, and it would be cool to see that in the later era as well, particularly early-ish in Jonathan’s reign as he’s trying to make changes to the realm. How do these changes affect the common people? How do they affect people outside Corus? What is life like for commoners who don’t hang out with knights or advise the king or fight in wars? Give me a heroine who’s like, an apprentice candlemaker learning wax magic, or a farmer’s daughter who gets caught up in a murder mystery. Let me see what life is like for folks whose lives mostly aren’t touched by monarchs or great events, but whose problems and worries and joys and triumphs are still every bit as interesting and nerve-wracking.

Jim is so innately Midwestern to me that I find myself incapable of moving past my immediate existential distress to expand on what this idea would mean for his characterization and his and Leonard’s dynamic, but thank you (I guess????) for putting this profoundly chaotic concept out into the world.

You are into racing?? Hidden depths, semper!

It’s a recent development, within the past few months! My son is really into cars, and he started watching Formula 1 with his grandpa, then he started asking me to watch it with him, and I was surprised to find myself getting really into it! There’s a show about it on Netflix (called Drive to Survive) that gets really into the behind the scenes and the drama of it all, and it really hooked me. There is so much interpersonal drama, but the drivers are also, for the most part, all really decent people who are fun to root for (not to mention that a lot of them are hot af, and there’s a good amount of homoeroticism, lmao). I’ve never been a sports person at all, but this is pretty easy to follow, because there are only ~20 races per year and only 20 drivers to get to know, so it doesn’t feel like too much to keep up with. There’s also a really great fandom here on Tumblr. So yeah, I’m super into it at this point, haha.
