HE   HADN’T   EXPECTED   TO   CROSS   PATHS   WITH   HER   SO   SOON.   he   hasn’t   even   arrived   to   his   home   yet,   where   vegas   was   waiting   for   him.   his   mom   couldn’t   make   it,   but   she   made   sure   to   keep   vegas   well   fed   before   he   got   there.   He   went   to   Pops   first,   drawn   to   the   familiar   place   to   order   food   and   leave.   The   old   man,   owner   of   the   place   gave   him   a   warm   welcome,   a   hug   and   fresh   comments   of   how   his   dad   would   be   proud   of   him.   Seven   years   and   the   loss   of   his   father   still   sting,   but   he   managed   a   smile.

And   just   like   a   flash   of   the   past,   Archie   sees   Veronica   pass   through   the   door   s   of   the   place,   similar   black   cloak   and   he   observes   his   past   come   back   to   haunt   him.   It   surprises   him,   that   she   manages   to   have   that   effect   on   him.   He   didn’t   knew   she   would   still   be   in   town.   “Veronica.”   Ronnie   was   too   personal   (they   weren’t   a   thing   anymore,   they   weren’t   close.   .   .he   had   no   right.)   But   golden   eyes   shine   bright   with   a   casual   smile   upon   his   lips   at   the   sight,   his   army   bag   in   one   hand   and   all   dressed   in   uniform,   though   one   arm   on   a   sling   due   to   a   recent   injury.   “Hey.”

Italy is very different from Paris. But the religion is still the same so he finds himself drawn to the churches. The ex-Musketeer finds it easy to slip into the scriptures of his youth as he prays in the pews. Perhaps he is meant to be here. God often leads his lost sheep to familiar places in the unknown to find a solace they were missing before. Despite the language barrier he can communicate in both Spanish and French. It’s just finding others that also speak the language. His eyes look up as he hears whispers that do not sound like that of a religious nature. The beautiful woman whose entered the church brings a soft smile to his face before he remembers such thoughts are why he is here in the first place. “Do you wish to sit alone? Or are you willing to share a pew with a new arrival to your fair country?”
