If this article by author/porn star Connor Habib is accurate, then Alain De Botton has sadly dropped the ball on his oppurtunity to write a good book of philosophy about sex for a popular audience.
I have a fondness for De Botton because I sympathise with his quest to bring philosophy to the masses but I find alot of his work unimaginative. He writes like a typical career academic, so I'm not shocked to find that he seems to regard sexuality as some vestigal trait or burdensome compulsion. Academic philosophy is very discarnated and selectively cerebral.
