good/bad memory: Flowers

Put a word in my askbox and I will give you a bad AND good memory from my muse’s past that associates with said word.

Good:

The flowers in the garden looked so pretty at night. They shone different shades of silver in the moonlight. The young boy loved to wander outside, when he thought no one was looking, and stare at the beautiful plants he mother had instructed be planted. 

Bad:

The boy had stolen the flowers from a shop and had taken quite a beating after he had stashed them someone safe. Rocinante sat beside his mother’s grave, with his head resting against the makeshift headstone and a bundle of the flowers she loved so much in his hands. 

Even after all this time and all that they had been through, they still shone silver.
