Hospitalisations in children in England. There is some data (UK, US and SA) that suggests although Omicron is milder for most adults, it is more severe in children, especially younger children.
Obviously these figures are still very low as a proportion of the overall population or hospitalisations as a whole BUT children do represent our largest unvaccinated population now in the UK, and it is important we consider how Omicron may impact them.

If you are a minor you ARE responsible for a degree of your safety online and you need to start taking it seriously. I am an adult - I’m 27. You should NEVER approach me about topics of my sex life, your sex life or sexual content in general. I don’t post a lot about sex or nsfw content but I’m not even sure how appropriate my blog is for you. But possibly even worse, if you are on a discord that allows minors you should NEVER start a conversation about sexual content. You aren’t allowed in the nsfw channels - which is the only place explicit sex should be talked about - for a reason. This has come up twice in the last few days in discords I’m in. I dont care if you think I’m annoying for shooting it down - I dont care if it makes other adults uncomfortable when I say “this is not a conversation you should be engaging in.” I don’t care if you think you are friends or what the age gap is. The discord is by nature semi-public. I am a 27 year old man thats seeing what you are writing. It Is Dangerous. It is Illegal. At some point in the past internet safety stopped being such a big issue as it was when I was growing up. I know I sound grouchy and like I’m clutching my pearls shrieking about things you dont think are going to happen. You think you’re being safe or that you are hidden. You Arent. I’ve seen kids posting about what school they go to, what town they live in. Stop that. When I was growing up I had a false name I used to give out online. We were told Never to share real Name, Age, Location or even photographs. There will hopefully often be adults like me that shoot you down, and dont care if you hate us for it. If you wont act with maturity and keep yourself safe I will treat you like you are acting and step in. Act like your parents could see what you were writing.

Children and adolescents who have either recovered from COVID-19 or have long COVID show persistent lung damage on MRI, according to a study published in Radiology, a journal of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Since emerging in late 2019, it has killed more than 5 million people worldwide. The lungs are the primary target for the virus.
Study of the disease’s long-term effects has accelerated as the number of COVID survivors climbs and more people are diagnosed with long COVID. The World Health Organization defines long COVID as involving symptoms that persist for a minimum of 12 weeks and other factors, such as symptoms that result in a new health limitation or worsening of a pre-existing underlying medical condition.
The nature of the post-acute phase of the infection is poorly understood in younger people. CT has shown persistent damage to the lungs in adults, but CT uses ionizing radiation and has limited diagnostic value in children, where lung changes due to COVID-19 are less pronounced.
“We conceived this study when the evidence for long- or post-COVID cases in adults was growing,” said study senior author Ferdinand Knieling, M.D., specialist in pediatrics and adolescent medicine from the departments of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at University Hospital Erlangen in Erlangen, Germany. “This was also when the first patients with unspecific symptoms were seen in our department, and parents started to ask about an association with a prior infection.”

Free travel on London’s transport for under-18s will stop after October half-term, according to government plans.
The plan to temporarily stop free travel for under 18s was a condition Transport for London’s (TfL) £1.6bn lockdown bailout.
