Under...again part 12 (repost)
Elek who had been hiding the whole time finally peaked out from under Cerins scarf. He had crawled deeper into the fabric when he heard Gaster garbled voice. All of his instincts told him to stay hidden until it stopped. As he surveyed the room he saw Cerin just collapsed on the floor, and Sans staring blankly; frozen in place. Elek squirmed out of the scarf he had been wrapped in, and hopped over to Cerin. He croaked at him and nudged Cerins face with his head. When that didn’t work he hopped over to Sans to try to get his attention.
Sans had just watched as Cerin collapsed
He couldn’t move, all he could do was stare at him. He didn’t even register Elek trying to get Cerins attention it was like he was stuck in time. Eternally willing himself to move, but not. Until Elek hopped onto sans head. “huh…?” he slowly reached up and grabs the slimy monster on his skull. “Cerins…Froggit….” he said slowly. Elek croaked at sans now that they were face to face. “o-oh!” finally sans snapped to attention.
He cautiously walked over to cerin “kid..?”
Sans bent down and shook him gently “h-hey?” still no response. Sans could see Cerins chest rising and falling confirming he was still alive. “just asleep…okay” sans let out a breath he didn’t know he was hold and scooped Cerin into his arms. He carried him carefully to toriels room, and set him on her bed. He teleported out to the living room again to grab the blanket they had used that night, and drape it over him. Then he waited.
After a few hours Cerins breathing had become more rapid. It wasn’t looking good. Sans went over to check on him, and try wake him again, but when he touched Cerin he felt hot, and he was sweating. He had a fever.
“so hot! What do I do…?” sans asked; hoping somebody, somewhere could help him, but nobody came.
Eventually he figured he would do what you were supposed to for feverish skells, and that would just be to cool them down. When Papyrus was sick from over using his magic he would lay him in the snow until he felt cooler, but Cerin was human. Humans had skin to keep them warm, and when suddenly exposed to extreme hot or cold they felt pain. “Maybe I should find something and put the snow in there…?” Sans said to himself.
He teleported to the kitchen and went through the drawers until he found some plastic baggies. He grabbed a hand full and teleported outside of the ruins. All this teleporting was making him tired, but he had to be quick.
He packed all of the bags with snow, and rushed back. Having to teleport back, and forth a few times because there were too many bags to carry.
When sans got back he took off the big blanket, and positioned Cerins body. Making his arms and legs separate. Once he was done he covered him with a thick sheet and surrounded his body with the bags of snow.
Cerin instinctively moved away from the sudden coldness surrounding him. He opens he eyes, and glances around the room it was so blurry he could barely make out shapes. “s-sans?” Cerin called out.
Sans had been to busy packing snow around Cerins body to notice he woke up. When he heard Cerin call out he nearly jumped. “Hey…How do you feel?” sans asked worry showing through his usual stone set features.
“so..cold..” Cerin couldn’t see him, but was glad he wasn’t alone lost in the haze of his mind.
“ah right!” Sans grabbed the bigger blanket and draped it over him and the snow bags. Leaving just a few under the blanket with him. “how about now” sans asked, but Cerin didn’t say anything. He had gone back to sleep with a groggy grin plastered on his face.
Neither Sans nor Elek left Cerins side forth rest of the night. Doing their best to keep him company, but eventually falling asleep on the bed next to him.
