VEILTOBER 2025
Drinks are on me! Wicked Grace? Rhoohk, ha-hAH ur a killer, i cantell 😏
Elek, who falls for a Shadow Dragon Rook, working in the kitchen and behind the bar in the Cobbled Swan.
Elek, who was only there for information, smiling and flirting at Rook, who is trying in turn to get as much information out of him.
Elek, who starts looking forward to seeing Rook, to tasting their cooking, their drinks, their chats.
Elek, who starts falling when he hears Rook humming and singing along quietly to whichever bard is on stage.
Elek, who comes in late and drenched from the rain, who's turned away at the door because they're closed - only for him to be called to the backdoor, is sat in front of the oven to dry off and is handed a steaming bowl of stew and the end of the day's loaf of bread.
Rook, who sits with him as he eats, who knows they're getting in trouble letting him in - in more ways than one.
Elek is a Thread, Rook's a Shadow Dragon. This isn't a two-pence love serial that's published in the papers and has the audience gasping at the 'Will they - won't they' situation.
It will never work. But Rook desperately wants to kiss him, even as he's got a smear of soup on his cheek and crumbs stuck to his mouth. When he grins up in thanks, bumping his knee into Rook's, it takes all their strength not to kiss him.
It's lucky that Elek is the one to bridge the gap and press a chaste kiss to their cheek in thanks.
I may have a crush, guys.

(Goes with this - part of the big bang that could have been but is slowly shaping up to be something else 😂)
Dinner came and went as Neve’s council meeting wore on. One of the young paper wranglers, newly welcomed into the Threads, had fetched Hal’s for everyone. The fish had provided some small comfort as Neve explained again why they weren’t going to raise their protection rates anytime soon and as several of her lieutenants again decided to push back against her policies and Maker, she was tired.
Over the arguing, she could hear Lucanis. “That's why they call it organized crime,” he had told her, nearly a year ago. Laughing with…
Neve froze, holding up a hand to ward off whatever Elek was saying next, digging out a small notebook from her desk.
Elek watched her, bemused. He picked up a pen and held it out to her. “Another one?”
Neve didn't bother to answer, taking the pen and writing down everything she could remember about that conversation. These moments were lightning strikes: a fast flash, quick to fade. Even as she finished jotting down the details, she could feel herself losing this one.
But it had been there. Her and Lucanis and another voice, laughing along with them. A voice she didn’t recognize.
One of the other lieutenants looked between her and Elek. “What was that about?”
Elek leaned back in his chair, grinning. “Just one of the mysteries Neve is set on solving. Call it a ghost story.”
going to be trying to draw more this year, so here's a start to that
