So do Laari and Fianya ever find out that they are both from imperial intelligence? If they do, what happens?
They do! It happens when Fianya decides to defect to the Republic. She intends to tell Laari the entire truth because she’s tired of deceiving everyone, she wants to be honest with someone she cares about for the first time in her life. She expects that Laari would be disappointed in her. She doesn’t expect that Laari would laugh in her face, but that’s what happens.
And they realize that they fell in love with each other’s cover identities. Their very real feelings are attached to beautifully portrayed fiction. It’s worse in Laari’s case because she has nothing in common with her cover identity, it’s an entirely different person. Jedi Master Xanaethe is dedicated and honorable, she cares about people a lot and is always willing to help. Imperial agent Laari is a pathological liar who betrays her friends, manipulates her brother, and messes with people’s heads. At least Fianya’s cover is intertwined with her real self because she was raised to be an infiltrator, it’s the only life she knows. Fianya can’t really tell where she ends and her second identity begins, but for Laari it’s like pulling a switch.
They have to get to know each other from scratch once they find out that they both have been playing roles the entire time. But they don’t like what they see. They prefer to go their separate ways until fire nation attacks Zakuul happens and forces them to work together again.
Moranai knows only one god ― money. She thinks that religion is a neat way to scam people, but she doesn’t like that scams like that mostly target the poor because she feels bad about robbing those who already have too little. She can’t be convinced that there’s some greater supernatural power. She’s even skeptical about the Force, even though she has seen Force-users at work.
What about political beliefs?
Who pays more? Who is more reliable to work with? Who will give her better benefits in the long run? That’s her political affiliation. She doesn’t like the Empire because Sith are scary, Imperials have too many rules, and there’s a high mortality rate for those who screw up. She doesn’t have any political beliefs, she just picks the side that suits her the most. She doesn’t particularly like the Republic either ― she resents the government for abandoning her family in poverty and hardship, she loathes Jedi for getting her baby brother killed. But you gotta pick the lesser of two evils, you know.
If you're still taking these drabbles, 90. “Remember when we were little?” for Moranai and her sister Xyrha?
I’m always ready to do any of the stuff I have ever reblogged for OC asks :3
“Hey, why can’t the Twi'leks fight with their lekku?”
The bartender, who happened to be a Twi’lek, turned to Moranai just as he was pouring a drink for a very quiet Rodian sitting next to her.
“Excuse me?” the bartender asked, and it was surprising that someone in the dirtiest cantina on this level would know such words. Okay, it was the only cantina on this level. It was still dirty and as seedy as it could get, but the drinks were cheap and people were easy to rob. At the moment, Moranai was planning on robbing the Rodian, who had his week’s wages hidden safely in his jacket, but the poor sod wasn’t drunk enough yet. She had to wait a little bit, and she had no patience for waiting.
“I mean, these things are huge!” she vaguely gestured in the direction of the bartender’s lekku, “If you could only fight with them like with your arms, you’d be able to take someone out just with one hit. Imagine the possibilities!”
“Piss off,” the bartender huffed as he placed the glass full of something remotely similar to whisky in front of the Rodian. Now he was talking just like any other resident of the Coruscant underworld! If anything, it made Moranai feel more comfortable because she had no idea how to deal with people who would say stuff like “excuse me” and “thank you”.
“Woah, no offence, my pal,” Moranai threw her hands up in the air, “I’m just thinking about the unfortunate limitations that nature imposes on us, y’know.”
“And here’s an unfortunate limitation that nature imposed on me,” said a very familiar voice behind her back. Oh no. Moranai recognized that voice instantly, of course she did, but she didn’t like the idea that her sister showed up to ruin her plans. It was unfair.
“Hey, Xyrha!” Moranai turned around on her stool, feigning friendliness as hard as she could in response to Xyrha’s stern expression, “What a surprise, you never come to places like this.”
“I do when I have to drag your sorry ass out,” Xyrha frowned, that was something she had always been very good at, and nodded in the direction of the exit, “We’re leaving. Now.”
Moranai wanted to protest. Moranai wanted to kick and scream until her personal walking headache would leave her alone. But there was no getting rid of Xyrha once she set her mind on something. It was better to go without making a scene because Moranai would need to come back later and finally rob someone.
“Oh, fine!” she scowled, all friendliness gone from her face. She stood up and followed Xyrha like a good little sister until they were outside and she could finally say everything that was on her mind. “Oh, come on, I really need money, you insufferable buzzkill!” Moranai stomped her foot like a kid who didn’t get her way, “I still owe Djingo. A lot. Do you know what Djingo does to people who owe her? Well, if you find my severed limbs under your door, don’t be surprised.”
“I’ll give you money,” Xyrha answered levelly as she started walking away from the cantina, “I’ll give you everything I’ve got before I leave.”
“Haha, sure… Wait, what?” Moranai had to start walking faster to keep pace with her sister, “You leave? Where?”
“I’m dragging you away from trouble for the last time,” Xyrha said instead of answering. Oh, she just had to rub it in, didn’t she? “I enlisted and got accepted. This is what I was going to tell you when I came back home and realized that you’re off to your troublemaking again. So they won’t let you into any of the cantinas on our level, and now you’re trying out the places where your face isn’t familiar yet?”
Moranai couldn’t believe what she was hearing. That is, she could believe half of it, but the part about enlisting? Xyrha leaving for the military? Sure, Xyrha had mentioned something about this before, but Moranai had never believed that it was for real. It couldn’t be.
She stopped and refused to move even as Xyrha was walking further and further away from her. She crossed her arms and lifted her chin, resolutely waiting for Xyrha to realize that she wasn’t going anywhere. And she got what she wanted when Xyrha was forced to stop, mutter something definitely not nice under her breath and return.
“Don’t make it about me because it’s not about me this time,” Moranai hissed, “You did what? Enlisted? Are you out of your kriffing mind?”To give Xyrha some credit, she wasn’t going to interrupt as long as Moranai still had something to say. And Moranai had a lot to say for sure. She raised her voice and was almost screaming at her stoically calm sister. “Wanna be a soldier marching on to the tune of the Republic’s anthem? Wanna serve the government that doesn’t give a damn about us and other people like us? You just… You just gonna slave your life away like mom and dad, but at least they’re not risking getting shot at.”
She didn’t get the response she wanted. She didn’t get an argument that would justify her anger and let her scream for a little bit longer. Xyrha didn’t look mad, or irritated, or offended. She was just tired. She didn’t even react when a passerby bumped into her shoulder. So the two of them were standing in the middle of the badly lit street, looking at each other in silence. And then Xyrha finally spoke. “Remember when we were little?” she asked in a quiet voice.
“You were little?” Moranai smirked, “I thought you were born grown-up.”
“Maybe I was. Someone has to be a grown-up in this family. But don’t interrupt me while I’m in the middle of saying something.”
“Okay. What was that?”
Xyrha’s eyes looked past Moranai, as if seeing through her, staring at something that wasn’t even there. “When we were little, mom and dad took us all the way to the surface for the first time. Do you remember? We’d never seen the sky before…”
“Never imagined that streets could be so clean, houses could be so nice, and people could be so well-dressed. Oh, am I interrupting again?”
“No, it’s fine,” Xyrha didn’t stop staring into the distance even for a moment, “Remember how we didn’t want to leave? We just stared and stared until our eyes hurt from all the light around us. We talked about flying away into that endless sky above and never going back.”
Oh, Moranai could remember it all too well. She just didn’t want to, which is why she lowered her head and slouched forward. “What about it?” she asked.
“This is it, Moranai,” Xyrha looked her in the eye again, “This is me flying away.”
From that oc npc ask meme, 10 and 16 for Moranai and 8, 16 and 18 for Merkara?
Do they know any other in game characters?
She tried to steal stuff from Tharan Cedrax. And since she tries to steal from pretty much everyone she meets, there’s a big chance she might know other characters, so you may have a lot of awkward situations with Moranai as your companion.
What’s their idle chatter like? Do they talk a lot (when you arrive on each planet) or do they suddenly say something in some strange places?
Expect a lot of questions of the kind that only children would usually ask:
“What is the name of the space between the bits that stick out on a comb?”
“How do we know that we’re real and not just a dream of someone else?”
“Are there more leaves in the world or blades of grass? What about trees? Are there more trees than buildings? Are there more bricks in the world or bird feathers?”
Occasionally, important story events would remind her of a joke, and she won’t hesitate to share it: “So, a jawa, a bounty hunter, and a wookie meet in a cantina…”
Are they romancable? Why/why not?
Yes
And it won’t take long, but you’ll need much more time before she starts to treat the relationship seriously. Don’t bring up commitment too soon, she’ll get scared and leave. And she learns what the heck monogamy is only later, so if you expect her to be faithful from the start, you’re gonna be disappointed.
What’s their idle chatter like? Do they talk a lot (when you arrive on each planet) or do they suddenly say something in some strange places?
Oh boy, this one is super chatty. Whenever she can say something, she surely will, have no doubt about that. Snarky comments, rhetorical questions, random observations, sudden insights — you will have it all. You will never travel in silence again.
If they are recruitable in vanillia story, where are they during KOTFE/TET? What are/were they doing?
She will already be on Odessen when the Outlander arrives because she has always been in favor of the idea that the Empire and the Republic should stop with their bullshit and clean up the mess they have collectively made out of the galaxy. She could be among the Alliance experts, specializing in Force-related research and cooperating with the Force enclave.
7. What’s their weapon of choice? Does the weapon they carry have any sentimental value? for Seidala?
Her most important weapon that holds a special place in her heart is her first lightsaber. It has been modified and improved for years, but Seidala will never consider getting a new one, it would feel like betrayal.
Sometimes she uses the lightsabers of her fallen enemies when she feels like it — she has quite a collection. In fact, any notable enemy of the Empire would do, she doesn’t have to kill them herself, which is why her siblings always send her the lightsabers of those whom they consider worthy opponents. She would prefer such gifts to any other. Her most prized trophy so far is Malgus' lightsaber.
compass: who’s the moral compass? in general: what are your OCs’ morality like? do they have high morals, or not? are their morals self imposed, or do they base their morals on religion/family/influence of others? for Seidala?
Her morality revolves around honor and duty. She believes that the Sith are superior, but this superiority is the reason why they are responsible for the fate of the Empire. Since they are strong, they must defend. Since they can survive what others cannot, they should not risk Imperial lives when it can be avoided. She’s not above sacrificing her people when she believes that it’s justified and the Empire will benefit from it, but she despises those Sith lords who would carelessly throw lives away for a whim. Hedonism and selfishness are just as despicable because no one is supposed to place personal concerns and needs above the interests of the Empire. This perspective partly comes from all the patriotic propaganda she has been fed since childhood. But it was her own choice to embrace this propaganda and place it at the center of her decision-making because she badly needed to believe in something. If she doesn’t serve some greater idea, then what’s the point?
Oh, I'm glad that you asked because I have two plotlines, which also involve lots of other characters, and I've been dying to talk about them. But I'll just stick to the basics here to keep it short
Rebellion!AU
She is never sent to Korriban and doesn't get to become a Sith. Instead, she starts a slave rebellion, which inspires other slaves and evolves into a large-scale uprising. As more leaders emerge, the uprising is no longer about slavery, it appeals to everyone who is perceived as inferior in the Empire. Merkara collaborates with other leaders to organize a movement that seeks to topple the government and create a new regime. Eventually, the Republic hears about it and decides to provide secret support to the rebels to undermine the Empire from within.
Escape!AU
One of my smugglers, Ylaila, ends up being bought by the same master that owns Merkara. Together these two slaves come up with a plan of escape and succeed, fleeing to the Republic space. It's not all cool and good for both of them because they have no money and no support whatsoever, but at least they're free. They get involved in the smuggling business, but they stumble upon the Jedi during one of their operations. Those Jedi recognize that Merkara is Force-sensitive, so they convince her to come with them to Tython. She's extremely skeptical and suspicious, but she likes the idea of being safe for the first time in her life. However, it’s hard to become a Jedi with a lot of pent-up anger and a long list of the people whom you want dead.
