your hancock is like scary good??? it's hard to find hancock blogs that dive into the full depth of his character and you do it so well, it's kind of intimidating.
Name one thing you really enjoy about how I portray my character.
ooc. ahh thank you. i can understand how it can be intimidating, but i like to say it’s like this: i’ve been writing, seriously, since i could first hold a pen. i read, constantly, about how to write. i study writing. i’m a published poet. ( in a magazine, but... still ) i’m getting an associate’s in creative writing right now. ( which will help me lean into a bachelor’s in english but ) so a lot of how ‘ good ‘ i am at writing comes from a lot of practice and dedication. it’s just, y’know… skill level. like having a blue belt in taekwondo.
but i just readily recommend, especially, for anyone that’s willing to dig deeper into their characters is to explore all aspects of them – good and bad – and to never accept the easy answers when it comes to answering questions about them. it’s weird to say, but i would say: treat every character that you write as though they were a person; a living, breathing human being that you were explaining to someone.
that’s the approach that i take with characters that i write, at least?? and it’s served me well and given me more material to write with!
