General relationships headcanons for Underground Robotnik? Maybe marriage ones, too?

I feel like he'd be such a sweetheart towards his partner!

I mean, don't get me wrong - there's not really any iteration of Robotnik that lacks the 'evil' factor, but he's definitely one of the less severe versions.

Whereas other Robotniks are more concerned with dominating the world for the sake of it, Underground in particular is more concerned with being recognized as a genuine ruler.

They're all fairly fond of opulence and decadence, and Underground is no different. I say this, though, because I think Underground would be extremely fond of pampering his partner. He certainly has the means to do so, after all.

I still doubt that he would be shallow, though - though I doubt any version of Robotnik is traditionally 'shallow.' Even in a position like his, he doesn't place appearances over all else. He's placed himself in a position where he's alone, after all - if he's gonna have anyone join him up there, it has to be someone he has a much deeper connection with.

Much more physically and verbally affectionate than a lot of the others, though. He's pretty confident in the fact that nobody is going to question him, at least not to his face.

Definitely not shy about the fact that you're his partner, either.

As far as PDA goes, it's obviously not super extreme - and if you aren't a fan of it, he doesn't mind, either. I just think small gestures like hand-holding would come naturally to him.

He does seem to actually directly care more about his physical appearance than we see from any other Robotnik from this era of the StH series - he does ask Sleet directly if he thinks he looked good on camera after all... 💀

The reason I mention that, though, is because he's 100% the type of person to have to ask you if he looks alright before leaving for the day.

As far as weddings go, I feel like he'd propose as dramatically as he can whilst still keeping things private. Don't get me wrong, he'd be fine with doing things publicly, but if the two of you hadn't previously discussed marriage and seemed mutually agreed upon doing so, he wouldn't want you to feel pressured into agreeing just because other people are potentially watching.

Though I love the idea of proposing to him instead. While I think other Robotniks might be surprised, Underground is definitely a lot more emotive cough cough dramatic as far as animated Robotniks go. This sweet boy would be over the moon.

There will be an engagement notice made fucking nationwide as soon as it happens. I'm sorry but there's no stopping it.

I think it would hard to convince him to have a small, private wedding.

It's not that he wants to force you into anything, he just wants to show off how much he loves you and how great you are.

It's not impossible to convince him, of course. But he'd definitely prefer to have a 'royal wedding' type ceremony.

I mean, he did go out of his way to have a huge ceremony just for a FAKE wedding, so a real one is all the more decadent.

Might be a bit of a odd ask, but have you seen Sonic Underground? I know that Robotnik in that is like a super watered down version of SatAM Robotnik. If you have seen it, I was wondering if there are any episodes where he even comes close to matching SatAM Robotnik's level. If I remember right some of the SatAM writers were on that show also (idk if Ben Hurst was too). Anyways yeah, I'm too lazy to watch the full series because I honestly can't stand Sonic, Manic, and Sonia in that show, also Sleet and Dingo get more screen time than Robotnik. So I just thought and ask if you knew of any good stand out episodes (again, if you've seen it lol.)

lemme start out by saying that i haven't seen the full show. i tried to get thru it, but... yeah it just didn't interest me at all. and honestly, i would argue that underground robotnik is more like modern robotnik than he is satAM or AoStH. the most he gets from satAM is just his design (which they slightly changed in underground, making it way worse imo)

but he's still an egg so i love him anyway. he's more tolerable than modern robotnik (i don't know if ive mentioned it on here before, but i don't care for pollock-era robotnik. like, i genuinely dislike him) and his voice is nice. and he's silly!! i really like him in the episode "Wedding Bell Blues" but i don't know how much sense it'll make without the context of the previous episodes. iirc, though, it isn't too far deep into the series (especially given that i never got very far into it, either). i honestly don't hate the hedgehog trio, and i'd possibly go as far as to say that underground sonic was more tolerable (for me) than satAM sonic.

but regardless of the good and bad, the show is ugly lmao. despite coming out a couple of years after satAM, the animation is arguably worse. especially when you consider that sonic X succeeded the show less than 5 years later.

oh, and to answer that second part... no. no, he doesn't ever scrape satAM-level activity, as far as i know. and even if his actions get bad, he's just so over-the-top and comedic about it that it's hard to take it seriously. nonchalant dreadhead activities /ref

anyway, if you're looking for something a bit more fun and lighthearted in comparison to satAM, he's your guy.

More Cybersix Robotnik plus Johnny when he was in jail :(

(had an idea for Robotnik Junior in satam becoming Underground Robotnik but specifically the good one from the reverse universe, which is what the third and forth pics are. The first and second are from a different Sonic Underground headcanon for good Robby, where he lost his limbs to a disease he picked up from poor living conditions and inability to afford a doctor for regular checkups that would have caught the disease earlier. This huge gap between the struggling and dying working class and the ruling class of Mobius would lead him to become a revolutionary.
