“Plastic Faces” LP by The Stinky Toys

In 1977, the Stinky Toys' singles were met with mixed reviews & Polydor Records abandoned the release of the Stinky Toy's full-length album. The album was described by Allmusic as "a largely flat, bland collection of recycled Stones and New York Dolls riffs with low-quality vocals." Trouser Press were also not impressed with what they described as "uninspired sub-Rolling Stones rock'n'boogie with terrible vocals by Elli Medeiros"

Thirteen years later, Universal Records re-released this & they gave it a name! I find those reviews funny because the Stones & Dolls ripped off rock & blues riffs all day. I don't find this record to be a copycat or basic punkrock anymore than tons and tons of other music that people celebrate is. Like, honestly, people playing music that sounds just like this get popular today.

Mature Themes

I used to dislike The Story So Far. Most of it has to do with the singer. I found his voice to be annoying because he doesn't sing so much. However, the more I've been listening to them, the more it seems to grow on me. I love kind of yell-singing and I enjoy it because I feel like it's very passionate. I would highly recommend looking up there top songs on Spotify. Their softer stuff is really great as well.
