Underhearth Post 2

Journal Entry 1:“The residents have aptly nicknamed these bird-like creatures Harvesters. They collect the souls of the deceased to deliver to their Waiting Room. Their beaks and eyes will remain brown until they return to the Underhearth carrying a soul. In which case, the previously mentioned extremities will become light blue in color.”

Here are the final sketches of my birds!! In case you missed it: these guys were originally sketches from a bird study I was doing. I really liked their look and decided to go with the idea.

Also, sorry if the quality if crappy. My usual art app is deciding to rebel, and I don’t want to pay for Pro, so I have to screenshot my finished works.

Underhearth Post 3

Journal Entry 2: “One of the few surviving portraits of one of the Underhearth’s oldest Residents—the Heretic(hair-rat-tic as the others say). She lives isolated on the southwestern end of the island. I hope to make the journey to her hut personally to have a conversation. Perhaps she can give me more insight to this new world I find myself in after death. I especially wish to inquire about her mask and what role it played in her death because of the rumors I’ve heard.”

Whew boy, this took me WEEKS. I went through, like, 6 different hairstyles and facial expressions. I messed around with colors and compositions only to remember I SUCK at full body drawings. I have another version of her when she was living, but that’s more for me than anything else.
