the hyde from wednesday is so fucking ugly bro personally I think if I turned into this thing I would kill myself immediately. anyways that doesn’t mean it’s a bad design but I made a random redesign because free will
BTW, love your design. ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡ Actual long rant below:
No because why is this true?!?! Like ૮ʿˎಠ_ಠˏʾა You want me to believe this:
is scary? Frankly, my boy looks better in the dark like this:
That’s not a good thing. Especially because I was so curious about the monster behind the killings, and then he ends up looking like a goofier version of The Quarry werewolves. Where is the fear factor?
Where is the being so terrifying, so baffling, so UNCOMMON, that not even the school SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO HOUSE OUTCASTS has barely anything on it? And I’m sorry, you want me to believe that face was responsible for terrifying people just before their death? Like yeah, I understand screaming and crying and sobbing as you get shredded to ribbons, but I feel like I’d laugh if this thing shoved its face in mine. Those bug eyes would make me crack, and I’d be dead before the overgrown fingernails got to me.
Am I the only one who’s reminded of a sun bear? It’s basically a small bear that tigers hunt as prey. But it’s been tiger prey for so long that it can’t tell the difference between what is and isn’t a threat, so it goes absolutely HAM on everything that spooks it.
I feel like that would be an interesting reason for why the Hydes look the way they do.
Maybe the first few Hydes weren’t outright violent, just misunderstood. But then bodies started popping up where they lived. Shredded tendons, missing limbs, the whole nine yards. And who do people turn on when they don’t know anything? The Outcasts. Hydes are hunted like the Outcasts in Goody’s village, and because it’s hereditary, trauma starts building up over generations of persecution. Eventually, a Hyde doesn’t need a reason to attack, it just does. They’re so afraid of losing their own life that no one, even a child, is safe from their claws or teeth. Maybe that’s what Tyler’s mom meant by “transforming into the Hyde has a price.” Every time a Hyde transforms, they’re affirming and also adding to that attack anything gene. And of course, remembering that you killed/maimed someone, even if not in your right mind, is bound to take a toll on your mental health.
But that’s just my opinion. I don’t like the cannon Hyde design for my boy, Tyler. He deserves something more unique.
