Why do I keep having au ideas????

Anyway meet hopeless.

Time for my small lore dump

In the beginning it had been just like any other day for Sans, getting woken up to go to the sentry post and ignore his job. But, this day has been different. The seventh human had appeared. They seemed so nice befriending all the monsters and freeing them all. They had just begun to descend the mountain when Sans had found himself back in his bed. It was as though it had never happened. All had been reset. But, why would they reset? We had left the underground? But, no one had answered his questions. And then it happened again and again and again…. Was there no hope for escape? Were they meant to never be allowed to explore the overworld? But no one answered. Over time Sans had started to lose his hope for escape. The monsters all noticed his differences, he had seemed more down practically like he was dead. As he lost his HoPe, his small amount of HP slowly trickled down until he had finally lost all HoPe and it hit zero.

Sans had felt the change almost immediately, feeling both delicate as glass, and as durable as steel. Both present and gone. Both alive and dead. With no HoPe it was as though his presence was gone, or at least it was meant to be, yet he was still there. It felt freeing, as though he wasn’t held back anymore. He felt both the determination to cause a change, and the perseverance to go through with it, yet had no hopes for the future, only the final feelings to  cause a change left to reside and fester in a hollow husk of a body. Those final feelings had brought about something new, no longer truly ‘Sans’ the remaining feelings took control to allow itself to be fulfilled to keep the human from thinking of resetting, to allow everyone else to be free. After all, what need do remaining feelings have for being free themselves?

Left with only his Determination and Perseverance Sans now is determined to change the cycle and shall persevere through the challenges of it

Basically lots of true pacifist routes and Sans giving up on seeing the outside world. At some point he'll probably find a way to finish that goal, and then his determination would need a new target for his determination. Or he'll probably just perish as all that is currently keeping him alive is the determination the perseverance is just to help him through his goal.
