OKAY INFODUMP: do u know the doppler effect? basically, the reason ice cream trucks sound so creepy when they drive away from you can be described through the doppler effect. if the source of something creating sound waves is moving relative to you, the wave frequency changes! it's going to go to a higher frequency as it's coming towards you and a lower frequency as it's going away from you. a train whistle sounds like its pitch is rising as it comes towards you & falling as it goes away (1/?

time to tell you things!!!!! if you're reading this, say the phrase "green beans" out loud. did u do it? we actually pronounce the "n" in "green" like an "m" in the phrase "green beans", because of like. linguistics reasons or whatever. it might be hard to notice at first, but try saying it again and paying attention! if you say another phrase, like "green apple" it is distinctly an "n" sound like it should be! but in "green beans" we pronounce it as an "m" :)

10. What does your OC keep in a special drawer?

A small doll that she’s had since she was a child. It’s a stuffed little Cardassian in a well blue dress. It’s obviously well loved, as the fabric has faded and is a bit threadbare. It was a gift from her parents. It went through the Academy with her.

54. Does your OC think with his/her head or heart?

While she probably would say she thinks with her head, she’s actually more in the middle. Sometimes her emotions can get the best of her, especially when it comes to her home and other things she’s passionate about. (she tries not to fall into the ‘extremely long winded cardassian’ stereotype but the bitch loves a monologue)

55. What are your OC’s thoughts on death?

She’s not thrilled by it, to say the very least. It’s one of her biggest fears, which tends to make her a bit hesitant and too cautious, something that her captain, T’mar, is trying to help her out of.

i don't know anybody irl who's read these books so apologies for flying into your inbox for the first time at the speed of a freight train. but um. THAT ENTIRE LAST PART HAD ME IN SHAMBLES. these books are so long and i read them so fast that i swear every time i go to have a crisis about something i remember something else ENTIRELY that i haven't even thought about yet. holy shit i am going absolutely feral how in the world am i going to pay attention to anything this next week
