I'm in a clique but I want out It's not the same as when I was punched In the old days there was enough The card games and ease with the bitter salt of blood I was in but I want out
It’s no surprise that Yuffie had found difficulty adjusting to life in the East, where the Shin-Ra caters to her requests and bow at every instance of meeting. She can still recall where she was just the foreign look, discarded daughter of a dignitary, belonging to a kingdom of whose relations were effectively to be scrapped for declining the proposal of Mako reactor. It’s taken practice to produce smile where she wants to give scowl, the sucking of teeth and biting of tongue actions of secondary nature though they become more commonplace at every meeting with a camera, the flash of every lens flare.
She thinks she likes it better, back in times where intentions were clear and ugly faces of demons weren’t masked behind reporters just trying to build a story for a salary, faking interest for approval and higher ratings. At least then the difference was so obviously, a physical barrier of the plate: and those who lived below, even if it was a darker place under the ‘pizza’, were much more honest with motives and to themselves.
I'm sick of words that hang above my head What about the kid? It's time the kid got free
With the wall crushed and Edge rebuilt, the guessing game is what remains: and Yuffie would rather discard it all than sort through who’s sincere and who’s not.
Be a part of the love club Everything will glow for you You'll get punched for the love club For the love club
There are times where Yuffie can’t handle the pristine, the falsities of HQ, and wishes for something a little more real, something tangible where she can still feel the sting of bruised knuckles and burning lungs. Because even though she lives in the large tower, on the crystal ceiling, she hasn’t always; it’s not living if she’s in so much privilege, and she needs a reminder of why she does this, why she continues to help the people and the planet.
Reno’s best fit for the job, though he does ask every time if th’ princess knows what she’s askin’ for. Says if the Boss knew it would kill ‘im: and Yuffie always responds with: “ It won’t matter as long as I didn’t come alone. ” And it’s part right-- only that she doesn’t see that side of paperwork, instead is coddled if she shows up with a few scratches or scuffs from her time in the slums. It’s only on rare occasion she remembers to clean out from underneath her nails.
“ We gotta get better at this, Red. ”
I joined the club and it's all on There are fights for being my best friend And the girls get their claws out There's something about hanging out with the wicked kids
She doesn’t get assigned to Reno much; never really gets to see Rude or Laney either, now that she thinks of it, though she’s still familiar with their face from encounters in the past. She tries to show her independence, succeeds when she stays on task for business-- but whether it’s due to the redhead's sharp tongue or their propensity to deviate from proper values and practicality when together, he seems actively pushed away from her.
Not that it’ll stop her from seeing him when she feels inclined. After all, there are more missions than escort; it’s only one of the tasks Turks know well, and Yuffie’s itching to see the rest.
I'm sitting pretty on the throne There's nothing more I want Except to be alone
Even if she’s at the top, title showing that she holds executive power just as her partner does, Yuffie doesn’t care for it. She isn’t interested in owning responsibility in Shin-Ra: she merely cares for the wealth it holds and the power it possesses in gaining new partners for global resources, more than she can gain by Wutai’s influence alone. She’s aware that the general consensus is that her homeland is backwater, even if due to that reason it was one of the least affected populaces during Meteorfall.
It’s just another thing for her to worry about, and Yuffie doesn’t care much for frown lines. She’d rather be on the frontlines with the Turks, tasks given on what to do next.
The only problem that I got with the club Is how you're severed from the people who watched you grow up When you're a member go on your great adventure again They will be waiting at the end
The Turks these days feel much different than ones of childhood and teenager alike: even if some of the same members remain, their purpose is different. They no longer assist and observe; they accompany and report. The same ones who shared her secrets are the very ones who expose them for the sake of security and the Boss’s piece of mind.
As a result Yuffie becomes compliant, quits her attention-seeking behavior ever so frequently: but on occasion she still sees Reno’s quirky smile, the end of a tail out of corner of her eye.
“ Princess’ gotta learn how to protect herself, yo’. ”
And with such a sentiment she agrees, keeps her eyes open for the next opportunity at hand.

Basically what HR hands to him.
@underplater
“Just seeing how heavy ya are. Ya ain’t.”
Reno’s wrapped around him like an octopus, and one hand lowers to support the man with a hand under his ass, while the other grips a thigh.
“Reno.” Tseng slipped into the office that they had set Reno up in, shared with two other Turks, but that was how things were. At the beginning, it was cramped offices and grunt work. Reno was lucky that he had put in a word with Veld. The kid was too cocky, and it seemed Veld never knew how to take it. There was that damn grin, and Tseng couldn't help but roll his eyes. "We've got work to do." @underplater
