🌴 15 Reasons Why Carl Wilson is (and always will be) My Favorite Beach Boy 🌴
As a big ol’ oldies fan who loves everything from the ‘50s through the ‘70s, I’ve spent countless hours listening to classic bands on sites like RadioStationsUSA on my Chromebook — almost every single day. From Chuck Berry to the Four Seasons, from the Beatles to the Hollies — if it had a good hook and harmony, I was there.
From about 2019 to 2023, though, I went deep into a Beach Boys phase. I dove through it all — the albums, the interviews, the live footage, the harmonies. But above all, there was one man who stood out to me like sunshine breaking through a California morning:

Carl owned that album. He had five lead vocals: “It’s Gettin’ Late,” “Maybe I Don’t Know,” “Passing Friend,” “Where I Belong,” and “I Do Love You.” Each one shows a different side of his voice — soulful, introspective, romantic. You know how Brian was obsessed with “Be My Baby”? Well, I am OBSESSED with “What You Do To Me.” I sing along at the top of my lungs (to the chorus, it’s the only part I know by heart).
