set in a magic kingdom past its prime, largely underground

tasked with killing the morally ambiguous despairing king

lonely human in a monster land

motifs of souls and humanity

canonical deaths/reviving through determination

cyclic theme (fallen humans vs ages of Light and Dark)

timelines/universes shenanigans

bonus: fight the king's son who is obsessed with his lost sibling
