Remember to Start With "Why"

Let’s stop all of the outside thinking and get deeper into our minds.  Think about why it is that we do what we love to do?  Do we only like it because we do it so often?  Or could it be that we do it often because we like it?  For musicians, this is a good question to ask yourself, since many of us are always doubting our skills and abilities throughout our careers.  A brilliant man once said, “What you do simply proves what you believe.”  If you break down that statement you can understand the process.  Deep inside of our heads exists the “Why?” question.  We have to get past things part before we can begin anything logistical. Once we know why it is we do what we do, we then move on to the “How?” – And this is where we focus on the plan to achieve something.  This could be as small as a question that needs to be answered and it can be as difficult as actually figuring out a process.  Finally, the very last thing to consider is the “what”.  It seems strange that the “what” hasn’t been looked at first – but rest assured it is in the proper order. http://www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2013/07/musicians-remember-to-start-with-why.html

My creative writing teacher after I had written down my thoughts: "Alright, now let's move on to writing about your thoughts.

This moment is a life changing moment as a writer and just a person. I realized that today when I became speechless.

If you are speechless, if you are without any words to explain, get a pen, or open that word document and write about WHY you are speechless. 

This may seem lame, and really simple, but it's a revelation I had today and it helped more than I could have ever imagine.
