Went back to my unfinished Undertale file (on Switch, I originally played it when it released - the late game experience is so inferior on console but w/e)
It made me dig up this piece I drew 11 years ago not long after finishing the game for the first time. This ending fucked with me for months.
Nobody asked, but maybe this is useful for someone? To keep the memory of everything fresh or for those who missed it / can't watch such a long stream?? I (half drunkenly at some point) scribbled down notes during the whole stream in my sketchbook and transcribed everything while basking in the joy of it... have fun ... and sorry it really is very messy over all. It is still mind-blowing that Ralsei is an anagram of Asriel. Azazel is an Abrahamic angel, who is associated with Death (God of Hyperdeath), scapegoat (Asriel/Flowey needs to be "killed" alongside The Six Fallen Humans to free the Monster kind), and forbidden knowledge (The meta-knowledge of Save-Load-Reset mechanic which turns him crueller)
Raziel is the angel of secret, mysteries and magic, his name translated to "The Secret/Mystery of God." He is also called "The ruling prince of the 2nd Heaven." If you are familiar with "Third Space Theory", in case of children and teen, the second space is referring to school. (Psychology theory that personhood is developed with 3 main environments, home, school/work, and local community/public space) He is The Prince of school supply closet.
Also, unlike Azazel, he is not a fallen angel. Ralsei remains steward and loyal to player's command, contrasting to Flowey's fake tutorial, constant antagonistic attitude, and usurping player’s command over the game mechanic.
All the meaning, and Asriel's name is a combination of Asgore and Toriel, whose running gag is that they are awful at naming things. And Toriel name is also a pun on tu-torial, and she is a kindergarten teacher.
(I am not sure about Asgore Dreemurr's name. It is an anagram for "Sage or murderer", which I don't feel he is a sagely type. A sage could also refer to a herb, but Asgore is associated with flowers.")
I don't understand how TobyFox came up with all of these.
So, in a way, UnderTale and Deltarune are based on The Bible.
