New Asgore Design!
So as mentioned in the previous blog post, Asgore has a new design! Here it is by the way.
And here come the reasons for this change:
#1 - Parallels As we know, there are a lot of parallels in Undertale. As a completely random example... both Undyne and MTT have one of their eyes hidden. This new design is meant to highlight a parallel between Asgore and Toriel in Undertale. This being their matching colors. While I can reveal that Toriel's design has aspects of purple in it as well, that is not what I wish to point out here. However, there is a parallel between them, by an article of clothing they share. Which one that is, I will not disclose.
#2 - Asgore in Undertale In Undertale, Asgore's design, clothing wise is put together by 4 main things. 1 - Headwear (Crown). 2 - Shoulder wear (Pauldrons). 3 - Cape and 4 - Jewelry. With that, there are 3 pieces that are reflected from that design into this one.
With the headwear, Asgore new has a hat, instead of a crown. This is done because while his crown was a symbol of his authority in Undertale, this hat is meant to show his new authority. While his role isn't as big as "King of the Underground", he still means a lot to many people.
With the shoulder wear, Asgore now has these poofy things on his shoulders, instead of his UT pauldrons. This is meant to show that while his heavy burdens are lifted, they are not gone.
And now for the cape. Honestly it just looks cool. But a more symbolic reason is that while Asgore's cape covered him in Undertale, showing how he was trapped in his responsibilities... Here he is much more free. Although he still has his responsibilities behind him.
These are all reasons that will be tackled later down the road when we get there. By whatever means necessary! But for now, that has been all. I hope you'll have a nice day!
