So I realized something about Sans' boss fight last night: If a monster's ATK is determined by their will to hurt, why is Sans' ATK 1? What if it's because he doesn't want go /kill/ you so much as /stop/ you, because he knows that it'd just be restarted anyway. I mean, sure, he's still gonna give you hell and the speech on the off chance that you'd turn back, but his ultimate goal if that doesn't work is to catch you on his turn where he doesn't attack. Hell, since he doesn't retain the memories of other timelines, his fight's length is him being patient enough to make sure you won't give up. Once he decides you aren't giving up, at all, he doesn't attack on his turn. I mean, the colors his eye flashes do represent patience and justice.
