nothing's wrong really, but tonight it's my instinct and impulse to be a grouchy, contrary jerk. So... I need to just sit by the seaside or in the monastery and do something peaceful away from people to gather my peace...!

‘ do you miss rivain , adhlea ? ’ they are both of them far from home , though ana hardly knows what she considers home anymore . ‘ i’ve never been , though i’ve heard it is beautiful . ’

WOLFRAM WOULDN’T PRETEND to know the burdens of such a command. oh, he had commanded men and women plenty; dozens had served under him and even more fought alongside him. all of which paled in comparison to the inquisition. though at first he was ADAMANTLY skeptical of their purpose, slowly but surely they were proving themselves JUST & HONORABLE. most of which was owed to their leader, the GUIDING HAND in all of their endeavors.
discussions of DARKSPAWN activity overwhelming a small number of their forces would have him intervene. typically he wouldn’t allow himself to be any kind of burden, but where he felt necessary he would extend what he had to offer. ❝ INQUISITOR, if i may, ❞ surely she had a great many other things to attend to, so he would make his unceremonious stop of her quick. ❝ i am no grey warden, but i have far more experience with darkspawn than the forward scouts. i would volunteer my services for this task. ❞

It was crazy. Hardly any definition of sane by any stretch of the imagination, but with his connection to the Black Emporium did the solution seem simple, if banally obvious. There was an air of steep change here, one that proliferated through such a mystical and incredible location. Seated on planks while others of their party milled about, his leg dangled over the edge, nearly skimming stagnant, metallic-scented waters. Contemplation moored him, but not for long once Adhlea herself came near.
“I have a plan. An incredibly stupid, if ill-advised one, but one that may help us turn the tide, draga mea.”

“Not yet.” Adhlea’s voice is barely more a whisper. It lingers only thanks to an echo from these deep, long empty halls. She refuses to touch anything of fear for disturbing that which otherwise was left untouched for millennia.
“How can anyone simply walk away from this? It is like something calls to me from within it, as if the very walls were LONELY.” Finally she swipes her sleeve across a mural, leaving a shining streak through a sheet of dust and grime. The elf rests her forehead against it and breathes a tired sigh.
“I know we cannot stay but it pains me to leave all the same.”
There is so much emotion in Adhlea’s voice, volume notwithstanding. The echo in the hall is not just sound but something else, something ancient and untouchable, and Saraya shivers despite the cloak draped around her shoulders.
“ It will be difficult for me to leave as well. There is so much of our history here, so much we could learn if only we had the time, but time is one of many things we lack. ” Though she cannot see what her companion sees, Saraya turns toward Adhlea anyway, watching the soft rose-colored blur moving in the darkness of the ancient hallway.
“ Will you tell me all the things you saw here? Later, of course, but... I should like to know what it all looked like. ”
