So, I have fully become a person who ships Buddie from 911 without ever having watched an episode of the show. Like, I went from blacklisting the tag (in a "I don't watch this show so don't need to see it on my dash" way) to unblacklisting it because now I want to see all the gifs. It's my driveby ship! So tell me something about it-- what makes you ship it? What's your favorite moment, or a moment you hope happens?
haha, you’re the second person who’s told me that about Buddie! that’s how i’ve fallen into a million different shows & ships, too, so i totally feel you. (tumblr is both a blessing & a curse when it comes to content!)
what makes me ship buddie... hm. i think the biggest thing is the obvious chemistry between the actors & some of the choices they make that i seriously doubt is scripted. for example, there’s one scene where eddie is CLEARLY checking out buck’s ass. (you’ve probably seen it gif’d!) then there are all of these throw-away lines like when Buck’s sister says someone else on the team is hot, Buck automatically assumes that she’s talking about Eddie & agrees! & the way that they LOOK AT EACH OTHER. plus, there are the scenes with Christopher, Eddie’s son, where Buck is written & acts almost as much of a father as Eddie does, & other people notice. their characters fit together so well, & lean on each other & fight like an old married couple (seriously, lovers quarrel in the grocery store, anyone??)
my favorite buddie moment is from the most recent season, after the tsunami, when buck is upset because he lost Christopher & thinks Eddie shouldn’t leave him there with him -- and Eddie grabs his shoulder, stares soulfully into his eyes, & says, “There’s no one in this world I trust with my son more than you.” There’s even a LOVE SONG playing over the damn scene; i can’t.
there are lot of things i’d like to see happen for these two -- first of all, it’d be swell if they could become canon? haha. but short of that, i’d like to see Eddie break down, or at least talk about what’s causing all of his rage at the moment. (he’s been through a lot lately; he did tours in Afghanistan, his wife left him, son with some special needs alone, wife came back & confused him, wife died, best friend got a ladder track dropped on him, son & best friend got lost in tsunami, son is traumatized & drawing pics of dead mom, best friend sues fire department & eddie can’t talk to him, the list goes on.) so he’s street fighting & getting the shit kicked out of him, soooo i’d love to see buck there for him & supporting him (& telling him how STUPID street fighting is, jesus.)
