a fundamental facet of christianity is that everyone is created in god's image and that god loves everyone.

which means that god supports queer people because by that logic he created them, for god's sake. I think that Lydia's reaction in ODAAT to Elena coming out is congruous with Christianity, not this bullshit bigots in the Republican parties keep on spouting.

anyway, I'm sick of bigots appropriating christianity for their twisted beliefs. at his core, Jesus Christ was a kind individual who helped the oppressed.

the evangelical 'christians' of the republican stripe are not Christian to me, they do not actually follow the word of christ. they appropriate a religion to justify their bigotry.

and even if christianity did support bigotry - which it doesn't - it would be immoral to use your personal religion to police other people's actions.
