Hi I just have a question, I have quite shapeless, thin and long lips and every single time I try putting on red lipstick I end up looking like a sad clown. I've watched all the usual tutorials but there's none for people with lips like me and I just wanna know how I could put on red lipstick and make it look good?

What I think will really help is using a lip liner to define the shape of your lips first before applying your lipstick. To do that first go over your lips with foundation so everything is similar in color then draw around the edge of your lips with a liner that matches the lipstick your are using. You want to try to create the illusion of shape and fullness so you’ll probably have to draw a little outside your natural lip line, just don’t draw too far outside or it won’t look natural. After you’ve created an outline for yourself with the shape you want then fill in the rest of your lips with your lipstick. I recommend using a lip brush rather than applying the lipstick directly to your lips that way you’ll have more control and have an easier time staying within the line.

Some other tips:

-If you want to draw more attention to your cupids bow then highlight it with a white eyeliner and blend out.

-To make your lips appear fuller apply lip gloss just to the center of your lips or a slightly lighter shade of lipstick to the center of your lips.

- If you want a really clean edge around you lips use a concealer brush and apply concealer around the out side edge of your lips. just make sure you blend.

-If you accidentally smudge you lipstick outside the line first clean it up using a q-tip then do the same concealer trick I just mentioned.
