You'll be a doctor again. You'll be able to stand in the sun. You won't have to look over your shoulder anymore.
Thanks, little ladies.
Twelve Monkeys (1995)
Thinking yet again about "Let 'em live, create an enemy" and "My father gave me scars. It's the only thing I had to pass on. Doesn't make you me " Deacon today.
And Jones "One life for seven billion" And "Each man's death diminishes me. Because I am involved in mankind, And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."
And Cassie "I just murdered seven billion people, I will not murder seven billion and one, not when the one is worth all the rest," "give us an ending." And "If there is a future, it's because of you."
Cole "I was sent back in time to kill a man. It was supposed to fix everything, it didn’t. So I killed more people, nothing changed. And then I saved someone. Someone who should have died and...it’s the only thing that’s ever made any difference." And "I remember thinking I'm about to ruin her life... now I get to give it back to you."
And Hannah "May I walk with you?...so you do not walk alone." "It is the privilege of a child to walk their parents the rest of the way together." And "It was... is... a love story. Not just of a woman for a man...Mother's die protecting their children. Yours died protecting you.
Jennifer "Is this what I become in the future? A woman who's failed everyone?" "There are many endings, but the right one is the one you choose." "You were never crazy. You were the best of all of us."
"A lot has happened since then... with you and me."
Cassie & Cole in Tomorrow. 1x09. (and all the time in between)
If he runs, you know what to do. And where to go. We do this together we'll be fine. Whoever he is, however they've changed him... He's you and me. He's ours.
Deleted Cassie & Cole scene from 3x10 "Witness".
I’m so obsessed with Cassie’s death scene in 1x09. Because the first time you watch it you notice the things that are out of place: the gray streak in her hair, her calling him “James,” her saying “a lot has happened since then between you and me.”
But then you rewatch it. And you realize she’s staring at him like she’s seen a ghost. She says “I thought it was over…and that you were erased” and you don’t clock it at first because present-day Cassie had moved on with her life thinking he had ceased to exist, that the mission was a success. Only on rewatch you realize she meant that she thought he had been erased.
Because this Cassie is the Cassie who has been through all 4 seasons, who left the man she loved to go live out two more years of her life alone, in the apocalypse, waiting to see him one more time. Knowing that after she dies he’ll be wiped from existence. And she finally gets to see him again, only it’s not her James Cole, and she says “I don’t want to be alone when I [die],” even though he’s holding her. And he tells her she’s not alone, and it’s something, but it’s not everything. It’s not enough.
