speak for my friend from another country. He is in a very challenging situation right now. His parents are unable to understand his desire to transition and do not take it seriously. Here is a short summary (a direct translation from Russian):

"my mother refuses to buy me a binder because i am a girl and she won't waste money on my "insanity". but because i annoying, she agreed to buy some b*llsh*t from aliexpress that'd cost 200 roubles (3 dollars). not more. all normal binders cost more than 800 roubles (13 dollars). clearly i had no choice and i started binding with an ace bandage. it is hard to breathe, it always slides down, my spine, back and ribs begin to hurt. i do not know what to do because i have no money"

This is the first time I've ever had to emergency bind. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I also don't recommend it. My chest felt like it was being pulled apart in the middle. I did make covers for my nipples before taping up, but wish I'd have been able to shave. Removal hurt but wasn't unbearable, and I have no lasting marks, besides some lost hair, after having worn this for a 5 hour work shift. I really need surgery, so this is no longer a concern. Oh. I also wanted to note, since I rarely see big guys taping. I'm a 38/F or 40/DD depending. I've been professionally measured, not just guessing.
