It’s Toy Time Tuesday! With...Breyer Unicorn Surprise Bag Green Unicorn! Now HERE’s a change of pace! I wasn’t going to do yet another BB toy, but this one is such a green color that you pretty much never see on fantasy horses of any sort...that it had to go on this week. Real kudos to them for choosing something so unusual that it’s sure to stand out! There’s light & dark green, but it’s all of a ‘forest’ tone which not even FSFs had, and they did most of the spectrum. Why this particular color is basically never used is a mystery...all the others do, so why not forest green? The low, pearly, white socks and gold hooves really bring this one together. The gold horn is of course, great as well. This is another new pose for Series 2 part B (or whatever they’re calling it) which looks casual but graceful at the same time.  This one is out now, in winter 2019, so if you want something unusual and cool for your collection, a 3 dollar unicorn with great color and sculpt is something to be picked up while the picking’s good.

Happy Black Friday! (If you’re getting anything) But if you’re having Happy NoBuyDay (like some are) you can at least look at a merchandise to pick up at some point because here’s Breyer Unicorn Crazy Surprise Bags Series 2(B) a lavender unicorn. Another great fantasy color selection, this time on a new pose, which is ‘standing there’. There’s blue-lavender and reddish-purple lavender together which both look nice. (Usually a toy will only choose one) the pearly white socks and silver hooves are a great pick with it. Being lighter blue underneath almost gives it a ‘glow’ type of feel. The nose is dark and the horn is a nice misty silver. The hair isn’t small so it comes across as fantasy enough as well.  A nice fantasy choice! At only about 3 dollars at Walmart anyway, certainly time to consider adding her to your collection--regardless of any holiday.

It’s Toy Time...Tuesday...later... With Breyer Unicorn Crazy Surprise Series 2: Red Andalusian! Well, ol TTT appeared on Xmas eve or so, and with a holiday around things got out of hand so it missed. So now instead it’s Thursday with this appropriately red horse! This is the Andalusian from their 2nd set, and he’s not rare this time. (Previously this pose was) Somehow, the dark red color is like...super suitable for the pose? It just looks really right & nice. The silver hooves/white mini socks are an odd choice because usually gold goes with red...but they do look good here. One thing to really note in-person is the actually blue-ish glaze/over paint/spray whatever that’s all over. Its actually really subtle and cool to see. The first photo here picks it up the most. Blue is another odd choice for a glaze on top of red but it gives it a really unique/unusual quality.  Vivid red is almost never used on a fantasy horse toy (why? Its a pretty color) so this is super to see. Very unusual combinations plus bright color will have this one standing out in any collection. I’m actually sort of surprised they were bold enough to do this. If I accidentally get another of the green (already seen here) and this one too, I’ll add them to my xmas horse/pony display. Remember: you can have this one for only about 3$ if you’re in winter/2019/2020

It’s Toy Time Tuesday! With...Breyer Stablemates Brown Unicorn Surprise! Unicorn Crazy Surprise Bag returns this week with another selection. (The 2nd one I have collected) This time, it’s an unusual brown unicorn. Normally, you could call out ‘boring-brown!’, however, brown unicorns are actually pretty uncommon in toys, art, or really anything much else, which makes this interesting to see. The horn and hooves are mostly silver, but they do have a tint of pink. You can also see hints of magenta in the tail hair & a little bit in the mane, but they’re very subtle. The pretty mane and nice tail have a good fantasy length, and the pose is elegant. The unusual color, subtle magenta & nicely sculpted hair make this one an interesting figure to collect. *It’s a bit of a shame they’re not naming these ‘brown unicorn’ doesn’t seem very suiting but there’s nothing much else to call it. And they could add a background too, like maybe she’s a mystic mare who has a secret glade in the pine woods and banishes pollution with her horn or something. I mean, as long as we are wishing for things.
