The Medieval European Unicorn is easily identified by several characteristic features: the feathers around the hooves, split hooves, a lion's tail, a beard, and the body of a white horse, deer, or goat.

This is one of my simpler, faster doodles, but the Medieval European unicorn holds a special place in my heart. They appear on medieval tapestries, one of the most famous being The Hunt of Unicorn, as well as several works of art depicting Christ as a unicorn. The Last Unicorn's main unicorn character in the film is based on this particular type of unicorn, and I have a stuffed animal based on the Medieval European unicorn.

I think them a beautiful type of unicorn, especially at a time in history when mythical creatures were often used to represent Christ or virtues like chastity. There are some saints, like St. Justina, who are represented by a unicorn because of her virginity.

(and of course, as with the other doodles, @tabernacleheart, you're free to use this unicorn as a character of your own, should you ever need a unicorn character for a story of your own, one day :D)

I may or may not have tried to make an Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin Unicorn

He has such fun hair and if I were better at making people look like animals, he might have had more telling features than the hair and crow feathers

A Water Unicorn/Reptilian Unicorn

The green-speckled skin, tough, and a scaly underbelly serve as defense and camouflage for this water-dwelling creature. Its thin body and streamlined shape allow for optimal movement and speed, and large eyes allow for better sight in murky waters.

It has unique, webbed feet that allow for ease of pulling and pushing aside water as it swims. The creature is believed to be omnivorous, feasting on small fish and mussels in addition to shoreside plants and underwater vegetation.

This creature is rather shy, and prefers to hide rather than attack. However, it will fight if provoked, often until either itself or its threat is dead or far removed from the area.

Nighttime Breed. Said to deliver dreams, though whether dreams are of the good variety. Eyes are of a unique shape and shade: this is known as a Blood Moon variant of Nighttime Breeds. Caution is advised when approaching one, as it is unknown if the usual unicorn-calming tactics work on Nighttime Breeds.

Crystal Unicorn

Whether or not this creature could be called a "unicorn" in the true sense of the word is hotly debated among both bestiarians and archeologists, as well as artifact scholars.

Though it takes the appearance of a horned horse, it's likely that this beast is created with the use of magic, a defense mechanism created and powered by a magical crystal or other such artifact. This crystal is the "horn" of the beast, and its magic tightly binds and holds together nearby biological building blocks. In caves, where such crystals are usually found, these creatures are formed out of rocks and other crystalline formations. This particular specimen is several centuries old, as seen by the formation of crystals around its feet, slowly climbing upward, to encase the entire form over time. Another indicator of its age is the stalactite mane, no doubt made as this creature has patrolled the damp caves which the crystal has called home since its formation.

It has no eyes, no nose, no need to eat or drink. It is kept alive solely by magic. Destroying the crystal would certainly "kill" the beast; it is yet unknown if removing a Crystal Unicorn from its cave would weaken or destroy it.
