Just in case you thought all unicorns did in winter was sit whimsically in the snow and frolic with woodland animals, let me assure you that most spend the majority of it complaining.

You know how the saying goes~ "April showers...give you a very good excuse to hunker down and do nothing all day." Old unicorn saying. Very popular.

Dimorphism between the sexes is low in most unicorn herds, noticeable only in the thickness of the neck or the presence of a beard. But in some herds the does seem to have made their preferences abundantly clear -

they produce some really, /impeccably/ handsome bucks.

Unicorns are meticulous groomers - which is strange because, when asked, they do maintain that they are as a species immune to the flies and ticks that plague so many other equines. Still they do seem to be nipping at something...

Picking the best lush green glade to lounge in whimsically is really an art form, and one which unicorns take very seriously.

The adolescent unicorn is full of questions about the world around them - true to that trying age, however, the majority of those questions run along the lines of "how long can I pester X animal before it tries to bite me?"

Many unicorn herds choose to migrate to more temperate coastal regions in the winter - it's not exactly fun in the sun, but the locals are friendly and the seafood is something to look forward to.

Like many snow-bound creatures, unicorns from herds living in colder climates grow a snowy-white winter coat to match the season.
