A Milestone!
Second call? Yes, it was a second call. As Michael being Malaysian real-estate business man, I’m unsure about his interest to invest in my IT project after our last meeting. The amount which I’m looking for isn’t that big. But yes, being at this early stage looking for such amount, it‘s going to be challenging and I stand with no fear.
Believing in myself that is getting me much bolder as I’m confident enough to engage with more new people. Not only that, last week I was asked by my friend to accompany her for a Start-ups event at SCAPE*. That event shared talks about how to publicise a company or product through media, which was way too early measures for my company. But the most trending part about any start-ups event is the networking session.
At start I was bit blunt, but I was able to get in flow and came across Kenneth Lou. He holds his own startup, Novelsys Pvt. Ltd. His team have come up with an outstanding wireless charging sleeve (to read more about this project click here). Anyways moving back to the networking flow He suggested me to apply for iJAM incubation powered by MDA Singapore. So, once I got home, I started surfing for this incubating body.
After doing some surfing, I got to know that iJAM is only providing max $200,000 amount, with free workspace. This killed all my excitement to approach them. Because, my plans is to setup an outsourcing sister company in India where I can built up my platform at half rate of the current salary. Not only that, the outsource company that I will set up in India will have roughly 30%-40% of the team will be working on outside project so, in mean time we will have small earnings to self-sustain this project for the next investment round.
As my investment amount is sort of big for early stage. I was suggested by few people that it would be great if I’m able to conduct pre-sales or gain letter of intends from the targeted Institutions to validate this project. So, I started going to targeted institution but, I was unable to get in contact with a right authority to speak to regarding this project.
There is a say, being positive and confident about something; world magnets will get us positive or relative responses. This is not that hard to be proven, but it’s a stoical process. Two weeks back, Shawn (my business partner) and I manage to have a meeting with PSB Academy’s CEO regarding our projects pre-sales and validation.
It was really new and great experience, proposing UniHub to a corporate customer. There were few small argument that struck during our proposal but, we were able to achieve our goal. Signing up, PSB Academy as our first beta testing institution. And we received confirmation letter from PSB Academy’s CEO stating that they are willing to test our service on group of 30- 40 students for a short period and if they like the performance they would like hire our services.
This was the first milestone of this project. Now, I’m so excited to go around other institution and have more letter of intends. I wish, I meet some right investor soon.
What is wrong?
It been long since my last blog about DMZ Mumbai office visit. I was supposed to blog about that interview, but I was caught with heavy workload.
So first I will share you interaction that I had with DMZ Mumbai team (if your aren’t sure about DMZ, check my last blog). Mumbai welcomed me with shower of blessing, lol it was heavily raining that day. It was really hard to find taxi to BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange), rain weren’t taking rest. I didn’t expect rains, my formals got wet and all I tried to find one taxi to my destination.
After all struggle, my dad and I finally got into shared taxi. Chasing for Taxi wasn’t the worse happening, before I entered BSE Building there was a security check and there my phone sneaked out my pocket and fell in a puddle. It was deep one. My BlackBerry started malfunctioning when I got it out that puddle.
Then it was time to meet DMZ Team, but before that I dried my formals. Got myself organized and I was ready to blaze up. When I visited DMZ office in Mumbai which is on 18 floor of BSE Building, it was breath taking, such an awesome place but was bit small. Sveta was one of the incharge to take my interview. She said my project idea and view point is great but for me to be part of their team, I’m suppose to be from Mumbai and be present for at least 3month session and work on my project from their workspace.
It is disappointing that I have an idea, a project, a prototype that can change educational lifestyle. Take cloud computing for educational institutions at next new level. I wish for a miracle that can get me some great support for my project and get it up into market ASAP.
Will talk about few concept updates in my next blog, well for now my bed is calling.
Hub BBM Channel
"Conceptual work spirit is key to develop an advanced interactive UI for our clients and their end users. Not only considering what a client requires, but we built what else they will need next to get their work simpler and dynamic."
It’s been a great moment setting up my company’s BBM Channel (C00293DDD). However, this isn’t my first time, but still find this as a great moment to be shared. As per my previous blog, this is the project that will give you a satisfying answer to my last time’s question. Blackboard and Moodle is present, where Hub is going to give you something next better e-learning and school/universities management system.
I spoke last time about these LMS’s user interface, security levels and pricing margins, that gave a brief about cost on setup. After all they only offer course management system in a complex manner. Where else universities then got to pay secondary cost for training, how to use and tweak UI (Blackboard) or pay extra cost of hiring IT’sian for designing UI as per universities style (Moodle).
On the other hand Hub will get you lot better tools with an advanced UI that will get student and staff interactions dynamic in real time. For now this is it, we are working on project, stay tuned to know more about LMS’s. Subscribe our BBM Channel C00293DDD.
LMS what's new?
Facebook, Twitter being one of the most powerful socializing and micro blogging platforms. Every time you post something new on these sites less than a second you get likes, comments, or your followers add your post to their favorites. This connection is social networking. On the other hand there are several other platforms like Learning Management Systems (LMS), Event Management Systems (EMS), Content Management Systems (CMS), Support Tickets Systems (STS), Online Sales Systems (e-Commerce), and many more.
Companies like Blackboard and Moodle they are one the leading companies to develop LMS for schools, universities, communities, and for educational firms. Blackboard rules over big universities or in other words ‘top leading universities’. It’s been years they are into this business and with full security. The reason why they charge so high for a licence because, there whole project is based on java platform, so there’s no doubt about security issues. Moodle is upcoming open-source project and with great affection grabbing schools, universities and other educational firms attention. Their framework is PHP, they provided security too but not as great Blackboard.
Moodle got simplistic user interface (UI), very easy to tweak and management is super complicated. Blackboard with high security they work in a java frameset which get their UI super complicated so the management. These LMS’s they only concentrate on course management and lecture management. LMS present in current market have provided tool and features, but how about UI? Their UI’s are so complex. Why the fuck they so complicated with such small feature, they don’t even support latest trends of layout fluidity. They suck at it. What’s new?
Answer is UniHub. Stay tuned for latest educational updates.
