❀ Venti always combs the crowd for you when he preforms. When he finally sees you, his face will light up with joy.
❀ He loves going on long walks through Mondstadt with you, just talking and playing within the fields and forests.
❀ Depending on how long your hair is, he'll always ask you if he can braid it. Sometimes he'll even braid flowers or clovers in it. His hands are always steady and gentle, and he'll hum a tune whilst he braids.
❀ When you get tired, he'll let you rest in his lap, or shoulder while he sings you to sleep, gently caressing your hair, or skin, and smiling at your peaceful face.
❀ If you're ever curious, he'll teach you some cords on his lyre. He's patient with you, no matter how many times you mess up or don't understand. When you get it right, he'll shower you with praise and boost your confidence.
❀ He's a very affectionate person, and enjoys the feeling of your touch. He also doesn't mind platonic (or romantic) PDA, kissing you gently on the cheek, or holding your hand while on a stroll, or nuzzling against you. He'll always ask permission first, however if you're unsure. If you ever retaliate, he'll blush, and get all flustered, sometimes hiding his face in his hands. But oh does he love it.
❀ If you're having a hard day, he'll be there to comfort you, holding you while you cry it out, or listening while you vent. If you prefer to be alone, however, he'll understand, and patiently wait until you're ready.
❀ Sometimes, he'll get caught up in the feelings of the past, and need comfort himself. Seeing you lifts his spirits a little almost instantly. He'll lean into you, soaking in every moment of your embrace, and feeling his body relax.
❀ He'll always bring you the best apples he can find, and share them with you. When you're both finished eating, you'll toss the apple cores to the local foxes, and watch them happily nibble away.
I’m going bold and posting the whole oneshot I wrote quite a while ago. This is the first oneshot I am publishing, ever, so it might not be the best thing you’ve ever read but I really hope you like it!
The excited cheers of the crowd in the stadium beat like drums in my ears as I stood at one end of the swimming pool, waiting for my turn to jump in. This relay race had been an event I was looking forward to for as long as I could remember and now I was standing here, waiting for my teammate, Ayato Sakamaki, to make his round back. I take a deep breath as I see him getting close and dive in as soon as he reaches his finishing point.
The cold water instantly surrounds my body and, as if it were second nature to me, my legs and arms move with the water and before I know it, I have already covered half of my lap. I hear the muffled cheers of the crowd watching us, giving me more motivation than I've ever felt. I finally bring my head back above the surface, touching the wall of the pool and look around to see the other teams' members end their race after me. With a huge smile on my face, I look up at my teammates in excitement and see a hand extended for me to take. I trace my eyes upon the muscular arm to see Ayato holding out his hand.
"Thanks!" My yell mixes with the cheers of the crowd and team members as I take his hand and he pulls me up, engulfing me in a wet hug right after.
"Great job!" He smirks and pats my back, grabbing my wrist right after and pulling me over to our teammates to celebrate the win.
"Learned from the best!" I yell over to him and his infamous smirk appears on his lips in an instant. "I was talking about our coach!" I smirk back at him playfully as his smirk turns into a playful glare. All I can do is laugh at his reaction and join in the group hug as the announcer announces our name as the winning group.
---
The school had ended and I was sitting by the edge of the pool, my feet in the cold water as I sway my head lightly to a rhythm in my head. Small hums escaped my lips as I stared at the water glistening from the lights around the edge of the pool. I had decided to stay a little while longer after school had ended because I was too tired to move around after the competition had ended. Hence, I decided to make the swimming pool my temporary home. I lean over towards the pool and gaze at the floor tiles moving with the water.
"Whacha doin'?" The sudden voice behind me ends up startling me a lot more than it should've and before I can gain my balance, I feel myself fall into the pool. I stay in the water from shock for a couple of seconds before finally surfacing to see Ayato stifling his laugh by covering his lips with his hand.
"You!" I point my finger towards him as I continue floating, not caring how rude it is, and look beneath me to see my uniform completely wet.
"It's not my fault you're a scaredy-cat." He chuckles as he crouches down to continue watching me with amusement shining in his eyes.
"Well, it is. How do you plan to pay me back for this?" He pretends to think over it and snaps his fingers.
"How about I reward you for your work today? In the competition." He asks and I nod hesitantly, assuming he was talking about dinner or something along those lines. With a smirk, he instantly jumps into the pool with me.
"Ayato!" Astonished by his decisions, I wait for him to come up to the surface but he stays inside, motioning me to come in with him. I sigh but take a deep breath before following him into the water. He smiles at me as I swim over to him and pulls me closer to him by grabbing onto my waist. I look at him in confusion as his smile slowly fades and melts into a much more serious expression as he looks down at my covered shoulder.
Without wasting another second, he pulls onto the fabric of my uniform and exposes my shoulder, bringing his face closer to the newly exposed skin right after. His arm around my waist tightens as he closes his eyes and caresses my shoulder with his lips, sliding them gently across my skin. Instinctively, my hands grab onto his uniform as he continues to work against my skin- gentle as ever. Finally, starting to lose my breath, I feel myself starting to squirm under pressure and Ayato seems to notice the situation. We both finally surface and all that can be heard throughout the hall are splashes of water and my gasp of air.
"A-Ayato!" I exclaim once I finally catch my breath and grasp onto him tightly, too shocked to swim on my own. Even he was breathing heavily, not from the lack of air, however, as he looks at me with half-lidded eyes. He bites his lower lip as his gaze shifts to my neck again, his grip on my waist tightening as he dips his head lower once again. He places his lips on the base of my neck and bites lightly on the skin, then rests his head on my chest.
"You were just so irresistible I couldn't help it." He whispers and snuggles his face into the crook of my neck.
"You could've just said it instead of being so extra." I chuckle and wrap my arms around his shoulders while he snickers in return.
"That would've been no fun." He answers back instantly while I roll my eyes.
You adopt a dog while Gwilym is away shooting for a movie and forgot to tell him an important piece of information.
-
A/N: Hey guys! This is one of my first tries at writing fan fiction. I’ve written some in the past but I’ve never really posted it. So, here we go! I’ll be sure to add a continue reading thing in the morning/next time I’m on my laptop since I’m on mobile right now. Xoxo
You were sitting up in your shared bed, reading a book you had found at Barnes & Nobel. Okay, not found, you had gone in looking for it. It was Marley & Me and yes, you saw the movie when it came out and knew how it ended but you had been putting off reading the book for years because of that. You set the book down in your lap, looking over at your newly adopted friend, Argo. He was a black lab mix, his muzzle greying from age. He had been in the shelter for a while and one of your Facebook friends had shared his “mug shot,” as you liked to call it, the shelter pleaing for someone to adopt the old boy before he was to be “destroyed.” The thought made you shudder, your eyes watering a bit. Argo looked back up at you, shuffling closer at hearing your shudder, nosing at your hand. You smiled, petting him before hearing the front door click, signaling someone had come home. Gwilym hopefully, you thought, a wave of nerves hitting your gut for a second. You tended to watch too many true crime shows when you were on your own, okay you did in general, and it put you on high alert.
Argo’s head snapped up and he let out a deep woof, scrambling off of the bed and standing at the door of the bedroom in a protective manner. You had adopted him a few weeks ago and the two of you were already almost inseparable. There was just one thing-
“What the hell?” You heard Gwilym almost yell from the living room. “Y/N?” He called, his voice carrying through the shared flat.
“In here!” You called over Argo’s rather angry barking, scrambling up from your spot on the bed to grab at the dog’s collar. You pulled him away, telling him to sit. Argo obliges, a growl escaping him as he sat between your legs.
Gwilym opened the door, letting out a surprised shout at the rather large, black dog in front of him. “Y/N, what the hell is-“ Argo started to bark again, moving standing guard in front of you, though you still had a tight grip on his collar. “-that!”
“Argo?” You offered, the dog glancing back at you at the mention of his name. “Argo, down!” You all but snapped, the dog suddenly quieting down. Huh, the training worked, you thought proudly to yourself before coming back to reality. “Gwilym, I need to tell you something-“
“Tell me something?!” He all but laughed at the absurdity of that statement because yeah, you obviously had failed to tell him something, that something being a damn dog. Argo growled once more.
“Gwil, calm down, he doesn’t like men..” You tried to calm down your boyfriend, patting the black dog’s rather blocky head as you spoke. Argo leaned his head up into your touch but kept his eyes trained on Gwilym.
Gwilym took a steadying breath, wearily staring back at Argo before his blue eyes looked up to meet yours. “Why is there a dog in our bedroom?” He asked now, his voice now calmer but it still had a stern undertone.
You grinned sheepishly, a small shrug leaving your shoulders. “I missed you? I was lonely? And he- he was going to die, Gwil!” You tried to play in to his emotions. You knew it was manipulative and you know you should have told him, at least ran the idea past him so if he came home to a dog here he wouldn’t be completely caught off guard.
Gwilym thought for a moment before he moved to set his suitcase down. He crouched in front of the dog, sticking his hand out towards him. Argo leaned forward, well, as much as he could with your hold on him, sniffing at the tall man before he calmed down a bit, his tail starting to wag. “See? I’m okay.” He said rather softly, his tone completely different than just a bit ago. He looked up at you again, now petting Argo, and you let the dog go with a relieved sigh. Gwilym looked between you and Argo, and you felt a tear slip down your cheek. You hadn’t even realize your eyes had been welling up during the whole encounter. He sighed, standing back up now. “Y/N..” he started but you cut him off.
“I know.” You said, your voice cracking. You cleared your throat, nodding as you sniffled, more tears starting to fall from your eyes. “I know, Gwil.”
“Know what?” Gwilym frowned now, hesitating a moment before he reached over, wiping the tears from your face. “Y/N, all I’m going to say right now is that we have to talk about this. I’m not saying..anything else yet.” He finished, glancing at the now releaxed dog. Argo had wedged himself next to you again, his head under your hand. You almost held onto it, the presence of the normally quiet dog calming you.
You looked up at him, your eyes hopeful. “Not yet?” You cracked a small smile, moving to hug your boyfriend as you sniffled. “Also.. welcome back. I missed you.” You said after a moment, Gwilym shaking his head as he returned your embrace.
“I missed you too.” He returned, pulling away and moving to sit on the edge of the Queen size bed. You moved to sit next to him, Argo watching you both with interest before he laid at your feet, once again sniffing Gwilym with interest. “Now, please tell me why you,” he looked at you, “adopted?” He questioned, and you gave a nod, before he continued, “ah, Argo.” The dog perked up at his name.
“From the beginning?” You asked, and Gwilym gave a small sound of encouragement. “Well, Tracie, she shared him on Facebook and-“ You crawled over to where your phone had been charging, set on your bedside table before returning to Gwilym’s side. You felt yourself relax as he wrapped an arm around you once you sat back down with your phone. You went to Tracie’s page, letting Gwilym read Argo’s post.
“Argo, 7 years old, Black Lab Mix
Meet Argo! He’s one of our oldest residents (in both age and time here) which means his time is almost up here (he will no longer be available after the 17th of May). He is a sweet boy with a checkered past, which makes him unsure of most men so a home with a woman would be best. He is Heartworm Negative, has been neutered, is up to date on all shots and because this boy is 7, he qualifies for our Adopt A Senior program! Will you be this big guy’s new best friend?” Below the text was a picture of Argo, his eyes empty of all hope. He was laying in a cage with a cement floor and matching walls.
Gwilym cringed a bit while reading the text of the post before he tapped on the photo. He looked between it and the now very much happy dog before him. “They don’t even look like the same dog, Y/N.” He said, his voice soft. “When did you get him?”
You reached up to Gwilym’s hand on your shoulder and gave it a soft squeeze. “The 17th.” You said, petting Argo with your foot. “I got there before they opened and the second they unlocked the door I said I wanted to meet him, and twenty minutes later I left with him.” You smiled down at the black dog and he opened his mouth, seeming to smile back up at you. “They said I was the only person to have shown interest in him, can you believe that?” You looked back up at Gwilym. “Apparently black dogs don’t get adopted as easily, and him being older didn’t help either. Seven isn’t even that old!”
Gwilym’s eyebrows furrowed as you stated the statistics you had found out before letting out a soft chuckle. “Okay.” He said after a moment, nodding.
“Okay? Okay what?” Your grip on his hand tightened.
“Okay. We can keep him.” Gwilym stated, leaning over to kiss your forehead. You opened your mouth but nothing came out. You found yourself letting out a relieved sob. He smiled fondly down at you, wiping away your tears with his free hand. “But you have to take care of him! Clean up after him and-“ he started to tease you but you cut him off, leaning up to smash a kiss against his lips. A surprised sound escaped Gwilym before he returned the kiss a second later, letting out a muffled laugh.
You pulled back from the kiss before hugging him tightly. “Thank you, Gwil.” You all but sobbed, your tears wetting his shirt. You felt him press a few more kisses into your hair.
“You’re welcome, love. Just tell me next time, yeah?” He joked before moving to get up, and you let him go. “I’m going to get ready for bed.” He nodded towards the attached bathroom.
You shuffled yourself back towards the top of the bed, patting the bed to signal to Argo for him to come up. The dog groaned before hopping up. “Hey, Gwil?”
“Yes, love?” Gwilym looked over at you and Argo, digging his pajamas out of the dresser.
“I love you.” You gave him a teary smile, giving Argo a pat before you picked up your book. “Thank you.”
“I love you too.” Gwilym smiled before he cast a glance at Argo. “Obviously.” He mumbled, moving towards the bathroom, causing you to let out a laugh.
“Tony, do you really want to go to this? I know you actually have stuff to do,” you ask as you straighten up his tie for the third time. An award show was something that Tony would have loved to go to, if it was an award for him, but this was an award for your newly developed ocean clean up plan.
“Of course I want to go, (Y/N). Especially since you’ve been working so hard to earn this.” Tony says, hands placed lightly on your shoulders.
“Alright, we can leave right after I accept the award then come home, okay? That sounds like a better plan than staying for the entire thing.” You admit, walking out of the elevator to the huge SUV arranged to take you two to the show.
When you arrive, there’s a crowd of photographers just waiting to get a glimpse of you and Tony walking in together. You two have been dating for a while but paparazzi were still infatuated with the status of your romance every time you went out. You both keep your heads down and make your way inside to the ceremony. People line the walls and fill tables as music plays over the large set of speakers.
“Wow, this looks amazing,” you breathe, squeezing Tony’s hand in excitement. The stage is doused in lights and everyone there looks absolutely beautiful. You lead him to your table and he pulls out your chair for you, like the gentlemen he usually is. He takes his seat next to you and takes your hand in his as the show starts.
Its around an hour before they call you up on stage to accept your award. You give Tony a chaste kiss before making your way up the stairs. All that is going through your head is, “Don’t trip. Don’t trip. Don’t trip.”, because you know that all eyes are on you. They hand you your fancy glass award shaped like a wave and you start your acceptance speech.
“I would just like to say thank you so much to my entire team who helped me edit and develop the process and real life execution of this project. It means so much to me that you guys stood by my side through all the ups and downs of development, even when we took two steps forward and one step back. I would also like to thank my partner, Tony. Not only are we partners in life but we’re partners in the lab. Thank you for everything you’ve done for this project and for me. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through all of this and I hope you all have a good night!” You wave goodbye to the crowd and they cheer as you make your way back to your table.
Tony is already standing with his elbow offered to you, ready to leave. You just roll your eyes at him and lace your arm through his and you leave the show. Your car is already waiting for you guys outside and it takes you back to the tower for a more chill night.
When you get back to the penthouse, the both of you change into sweats and loose t-shirts before settling in for bed.
“Congrats on the award, (Y/N). I’m so proud of you and what you’ve done to pursue your passion of protecting our earth.” Tony says, kissing you lightly. “I love you.”
“I love you too, Tony, and thank you for supporting me, I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without you.” You say, kissing him back. His support means the world to you and you wouldn’t want to have anyone else by your side.
Football Game pt. 2 (Requested) : Steve Harrington x Reader
A/N: I had several requests for this and I kinda went overboard on it...oops...
Requested by: @10blurredsmoke10 @nicolewaller @tomhollandisdaddy2003 and one Anon
You run a hand through your hair before flattening it again. Looking in the mirror, you check over your reflection for the tenth time. Adjusting your shirt once more, you decide that you look decent enough to meet Steve by the stadium.
It was a little chilly outside considering it was turning from late fall to early winter, but it was still a beautiful night. The sun was setting across the top of the trees and the field was beginning to be illuminated by the bright artificial lights scattered around the stadium. You stand behind the stadium after tossing your backpack into your car, patiently waiting for Steve to meet you. As your eyes glance over the crowd, Steve catches your eye and waves. You flash him a small smile and wave back as he pushes his way over to you.
“Hey,” he says quickly before digging through his pocket searching for something. He pulls out a ticket and hands it to you before taking out his own.
“Hi, why did you just hand me a ticket?” You ask, still slightly perplexed.
“I bought you a ticket for the game,” Steve smiles.
“Steve, you didn’t have to,” you say. “Let me pay you back.”
You take out the money for the ticket and shove it into his jacket pocket.
“No, (Y/N). I’m not taking your money,” he laughs, shoving it back into your hands.
You two argue for a few minutes before you finally give up and shove the money back into your pocket. “You, Steve Harrington, are a horrible person,” you smirk.
“I am completely fine with that.” He takes you up to the ticket counter and one of the students running it tears off the end of your tickets, handing the other half back.
Steve takes you up to the top of the bleachers right on the 50 yard line, his favorite spot for watching games. As soon as you two sit down, you see Jonathan and Nancy walking up towards you guys. You and Jonathan make eye contact before he quickly looks away.
“Hey! Do you guys mind if we sit up here?” Nancy says brightly.
“Uh, yeah. Sure,” you muttered.
“Thanks, (Y/N).” She sits down next to you and Jonathan takes his seat on the other side of her.
As you talk to Steve, you start to realize that he isn’t such a bad guy after all. He attempts to explain to you how football works and what’s going on, and you just nod along, asking questions when necessary. As he’s explaining the positions, you see Jonathan continually sneaking glances at you. You make eye contact with him again and you can see jealousy burning in his eyes. You turn back to Steve and you can feel Jonathan’s eyes searing through the back of your head.
The team scores another touchdown, steering them towards victory in the second quarter. It’s halftime and the marching band makes their way on to the field as both teams exit. Steve tries to take you to get food but you stay to watch. Nancy does the same thing to Jonathan but he stays as well. The both of you sit there in awkward silence before he speaks to you.
“(Y/N), what are you doing here with Steve? You know he’s not a good guy,” he attempts to reason with you, but you don’t budge.
“I’m here because Steve invited me. I was going to go with you but you were too busy fawning over Miss Disney Princess over there. You literally ditched me today to go be with her,” you point out, slightly pissed that he had the audacity to be jealous when he left you alone.
“I’m sorry, (Y/N), I-” it’s then when Steve comes back and offers you some popcorn. You scoot back next to him and take a few pieces. The marching band ends their performance soon after and everyone gives them a round of applause as Nancy takes her seat again.
“Hey, are you okay?” Steve asks you quietly.
“Hmm? Yeah, I’m alright,” you answer, rubbing your arms in attempt to keep warm as the wind blows by.
“You sure? You look a little worried, and cold,” Steve takes off his jacket and wraps it around your shoulders and holds you close to him.
“Thank you, Steve.” It’s at that point when Jonathan stands up and leaves the game, Nancy trailing after him, attempting to ask him what’s wrong.
“What’s wrong with him?” Steve asks you.
“I’m not sure,” you lie. “Game’s getting pretty boring, do you want to head out?”
“Why? It’s the fourth quarter,” Steve questions.
“We’re gonna win anyways, why not just go out or something?”
“Sure, why not?”
You stand and walk down the steep steps of the stadium with Steve following close behind. The both of you stand under the stadium as the crowd roars with cheering.
“Thanks for taking me out tonight, Steve, I had a great time,” you smile, shrugging his jacket off and handing it back to him.
“I’m glad you did, and I’m glad you’re alright. I just had to make sure,” he smirks.
“I’ll see you around, I guess,” you hug him tightly and he holds you for just a second before pulling away. He looks into your eyes and slowly leans in for a kiss. Before you even think of anything rational, you press your lips to his, feeling the warmth of his lips against your own in the cold, windy night. As you kiss, the crowd starts cheering again, causing you to pull away.
“That was definitely for us,” Steve says.
“Yeah, definitely,” you smile.
Later that night you get a call, hearing Steve on the other end of the line.
“I found the money you left in my pocket,” he chuckles. You can hear him smile through the phone. “Next time, how about I actually pay for the date?”
“Oh, so it was a date now was it?” You can feel your heart skip a beat when he laughs through the line.
“I guess, and I was hoping you’d like to go on another one with me sometime?” He asks hesitantly.
Imagine Paul having a boyfriend who he is surprisingly cuddly and basically a big teddy bear around, never losing his temper when with him and doing sweet, romantic things all the time
"Come here." Paul pats to his lap. You had expected he would pat the space next to him in the couch. Hell, you had expected he would be mad at you after your outburst earlier, but he only just stared at you with a faint crease on his brows like he was worried. Worried about you.
You stare at your feet, guilt eating you up from the inside out, remembering how you raised your voice earlier. From what everyone expected of the guy, you'd thought he would snap and lose his temper like with anyone else.
But not with you.
"I'm sorry, Paul," you start, you're frozen to where you're standing. You hear him sigh.
"I know you didn't mean it. Just... come here, baby."
You did, putting your foot in front of the other, and the next thing you know, you're sinking onto his lap, knees on either side of his waist. He accepts you with open arms, pulling your arms to rest on his shoulders. Paul holds you tight and slipping his huge hand under your shirt, so you can feel his heat branding your skin. It's a ray of sunshine on a winter day. You burrow into his neck, and the press of his chest against yours feels like an angel's kiss.
"I'm just," you sniff. "I don't know, I'm really stressed lately and I didn't mean to take it out on you—"
"Hey, hey, baby." Paul's hands slip out from under your shirt to cup your face, and you look at his lips in guilt. "Look at me," and you do, staring back at his eyes. "I'm not mad at you. I know you're going through something. I'm just here to be however you need me, alright?"
"I just want you to be you," you whisper.
"Then I'll be me." His grin is charming, ever wide and mischievous, much like the first time you've seen it, the same one you fell in love with.
Maybe everything's going to be just alright.
"Tell you what. I'll cook something up for you. Or do you wanna go outside for a bit?" Paul asks and you shake your head.
"I'm good where I am."
"Of course you are," he says, with a lecherous smile on his face. You laugh, the first one you've done in a while now. Surprised with yourself, you lean in and kiss his playful mouth, like a thank you, like an I appreciate you, I'm so glad I have you, I wouldn't want to know life without you.
