My poem ‘Hablo’ from the first preliminary round of Unislam 2018.
“What I called home as a child doesn’t feel it anymore / but I watched my mother’s face break the first time I slipped up and called where I am now ‘home’”

A poem about love. Sort of.
The other UniSlam poem I planned was going to be "Dream of a Perfect Girlfriend" as part of our group piece about multisexuality - I wanted to focus on having a preference despite being pansexual.
But I'm not sure what I want to say is "the perfect girlfriend" - focus on looks, interests, behaviour... hmm.
And of course I don't want it to sound too specific because then it loses relatability..
So annoyed
I was meant to be writing a poem for UniSlam called "An Ode To Tumblr" which would detail all the issues with 'over-liberalism' that Tumblr faces. I had it all planned out with radical feminism, destruction of gender and other really confusing and controversial topics I've only come across on this site.
And then I fell into the Yuri On Ice fandom where everything is sweetness and light and fucking canonical gay happiness.
I am struggling to write this negative-about-tumblr poem now.
