This is a list of the top parodies made from "Call Me Maybe."
For my unit response I focused on viral videos and parodies. This was the parody that made "Call Me Maybe" viral. After this parody, a countless number of parodies were made and then went viral.
This clip from Family Guy parodies the viral video Grape Lady that is posted below. Viral videos often generate several parodies, ones that sometimes even cross over onto other media platforms such as TV.
This classic video known as Grape Lady is a prime example of viral video.
The second example is of a student made stop-motion interpretation of the classic arcade game Pacman. It's a remediation (and 'refashioning') of an old media, while a tribute to the immediacy and hypermediacy embedded within the nature of stop-motion.
In my response I talked about remediation, or the way one media is manipulated into the form of another. This process can mean creating a new form of media, but when broken down can show pieces of already existing media (that within this new media have a whole new meaning). In this particular example physical activities are taken from old videos, stripped to their most basic form, and compiled to create a Nike fuel band advertisement.
